i grew up as a jehovah's witness.
my mother was uneducated and so we moved every 2-4 years as she tried to find stable enough work to support a child so ive attended many kingdom halls and have known many witnesses and many elders.
i've never gone back to the witness organization and never will.

The only thing hated is dogma and its results.......from the many threads on here you will see both of those.
This site gives invaluable information, support and help.........it can literally open peoples eyes..........as well as that it is a social place for people who have had a similar experience.
Your right it isnt good to dwell with hate in your heart constantly but I think your broad sweep is way off the mark and born from a very limited knowledge of this board.
for me now i've officially left i finally feel i'm moving on and making a new life.

a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.
this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.
in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.
i wonerif police will be dgginng up kingom halls next in the search for madeleine mccann..
If the media is to be believed it is clear that she would not be in good standing as a JW........lives with her husband, has an affair with Murat and it is claimed caused the breakdown of his own marriage, celebrated his birthday and went to a Christmas party with him......if all of this is true she is definitely not living according to the teachings of the org.
it's coming up to the end of the year, this is the time oz radio station triple j start compiling votes for their hottest 100 (which is then played on aus day january 26th).

i have told my new therapist so much about jwd, some of the insightful comments here, and how much it has helped me and other dubs that we both now wonder if there are other jw help sites.
i really don't know as this was the first and only one i ever found, and it was just what i needed.. he has pegged me well as impatient, and knows i was vocal about my wake-up from jw.
his advice right now is to back off totally on trying to help any others, and i have told him that many here have said no one will wake-up until they want to for some reason.
Oompa the problem I forsee is that if you start attending meetings for your own social reasons all the family and friends you have been outspoken with about your feelings re the religion are going to take it that you are back tracking and have shifted your view....Will it be difficult for you if one of those you have spoken to comes up and says something like they are glad you have seen the light and are back in the flock....
