  Utterances from the mouths of JW`s that prove they are in a cult. Any?

  quotes from the wt publications are indeed hair raising enough.

  but i find the utterances of jehovahs witnesses themselves to be even more intriguing.

  mainly because it shows just what kind of people the religion produces.. below are some that stand out to me in from my time in the organisation.

  Excellent point OnTheWayOut,

  I remember being at the BS and it was the review of The Greatest Man book. I brought up the fact in my 3 minute comment that the Roman soldier who didnt feel he was worthy of Christ coming to his house and said just give the word. Jesus said that he had more faith than anyone in all of Isreal, that would have included his apostles and other followers. I applied it to people who the witness condemn in the world may have more faith than witnesses. You could have heard a pin drop and we were on carpet. The study conductor just wanted me to shup up. I thought it was a great application as yours is also.

  I definitely feel that there is a day of reckoning, too many scriptures to point to a judgement day of some sort. I believe that it is close but then again as far as I am concerned the end is only a second a way, for who knows when a person will die from anything freaky or an accident and our judgement could be then, either way we won't have any more time to make any changes we may have wanted or needed to.

  Who will get life? It isn't our call and so that alleviates our minds from thinking any further, we are not to judge anyone including ourselves, we are not qualified.

  Paradise earth? Does it matter? Wherever it is going to take place it will be better than the life we have had on this planet thus far.

  Drinking (booze) among "Gods" people......More then ever now?

  looking back its amazing how many alcoholics i knew in the "borg"...................... there are 3 elders in my old hall alone........ that are full blown alcoholics...................... when, have you ever heard of someone.......anyone.......let alone and elder............ getting "dfed" for drinking too much?.

  when i was at bethel........you wouldn't believe how much drinking was done there!.

  there are stories of the old days ( russell & the judge)..where they would find guys passed out in front of the 124 building on sunday mornings........no big deal, just dust them off.............. and bring in.

  How do you really know?

  Isn't that what they are implying by telling everybody that they are not qualified to read the Bible and come to a conclusion but must wait for the FD to interpret it for them.

  i guess you could write a whole book on what is acceptable and what's wrong, and the consequences to your actions.

  you could also say all that you have to do and what you have to avoid..

  let me start by saying that i have posted here before about my wacko sister -in-law.

  this time it is bad.

  we recieved a phone call from my husbands father on friday night asking about how we were and what we were up to ,no biggie just odd since its only maybe the second time in over a year that he has called.

  Annalice, these are all excellent suggestions, I have seen the elders go into action but usually it is to protect their own, sad fact but face it. I would do EVERYTHING possible to protect my family both physically and spiritually from this wacko. I wonder how many people there are who wish they would have taken action and regretted not doing so later because they thought the person they were dealing with would of never done _______? I wouldn't let lightening strike once with this person, go to the authorities, going to the elders is like pissing in the ocean and thinking you are bringing up the water level. If anything should happen, they will deny any and everything to protect themselves and the org.

  if a jw reads jw pulications, figures out it looks like a sham, and then brings up the inconvenient truths to "the wrong people" - is that all it takes to get silenced - ousted - removed - ceased etc ?

  Honesty, wow, that is about how it feels, good pic, it says it all, none of the JW can appreciate that until they cross the line, then they can understand just how unloving they really are. I am ashamed that I use to treat DF'd ones that way. It never felt right and I pray that I never act that unloving to anyone ever again.
