  i am reading the bible for the first time.

  i was df'd in 1976 and lived my whole life thinking the jws have the truth and i just could not live up to the standard and was doomed to die at the big a without question.

  until i found jwd 31 years later.

  Disfellowshiping is it the act of judging?

  somehow to me the disfellowshipping is very close to judging another person.

  jesus once said he who is without sin cast the first stone.

  now i know how that repented person felt when jesus stepped in.

  Welcome Repented and yes it is an act of judging , I like how Paul put it when it comes to judging and DFing could be a part of that in 1 Cor 4:3-5

  3 Now to me it is a very trivial matter that I should be examined by YOU or by a human tribunal. Even I do not examine myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself. Yet by this I am not proved righteous, but he that examines me is Jehovah. 5 Hence do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring the secret things of darkness to light and make the counsels of the hearts manifest, and then each one will have his praise come to him from God.

  We are not fit to judge ourselves yet alone someone else. They just dont get it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  How Important is Sex in a Marriage/Relationship?

  i believe it is very important but i also heard it said.

  "sex only plays as much importance in marriage for how long it takes".. how important is it to you in your marriage/relationship?.

  is it only better when all things are going smooth, do you use sex to get what you want or use it as a tool for punishment?.

  There is sex in marriage? I have gotten propositions lately, but none by my husband. I guess to know me is to not want to 'know' me. .

  Sorry to hear about that JW daughter, that is a shame and not healty either. I hope you work it out soon..

  Then again, I would have liked to have a real relationship (positive sense) with him also. It won't happen now

  You never know, there have been plenty of relationships rebuilt and especially if there is no infidelity involved..

  I wonder if he is as lonely as I am. Kind of a stupid shame, isn't it?

  There is only one way to find out, and it is a shame, because there still must be something there from the fact that you are still both there. I hope it gets better and things WORK out well for you. abr

  Abandonment

  most of the time i'm ok with the problem i'm about to discuss.

  it just seems that occasionally it hurts me more than others.. for those of you who's family are all jws: it was hard to leave all of your family behind but for whatever reason, it made you happier to go than to stay.

  after you left, did you ever get scared that those in your new life would abaondon you as well?

  Sad, but true, we are all here for a breif time in history, life is about people coming and going in our lives. One day we too will only be a memory of those that love us. Keep your outgoing personality and you will have no problems.

  i live one block from the kh.

  we were gone last weekend and i was disappointed to see that we'd been visited by the jw's.

  actually, they hit both front and back doors of our house.. a double bonus in counting time for some lucky doorknocker!

  you begin to meet new people and instead of viewing them all as 'bad association', you begin to view them as fellow humans.

  Again fed another line and took it hook line and sinker when in. When I got out, I came from seeing some real hatred as descibed in my bio but people who were "WORLDLY" treated me better than my so called brothers. Poeple are people and you can not generalize people into one category just because a magazine says so.

  I don't read where it says that we are to NOT drink the cup and NOT eat the bread unless we are of the annointed. I do not see where it says that we are to only do this once a year at a "memorial". I researched in several bibles and it always says the same "Do this in remembrance of Me."

  Please if you are a practicing JW, consider this important message from Jesus and if you choose to go to the memorial this year; have the courage to speak up on the true meaning of these words. Who really was Jesus, is what this pamphlet asks. Well, he was a man who stated the rules pretty simply; he did not need an interpreter from the Watchtower Society to change his words into something else.

  Very well put Auntie, that is why I am having one at my house with wine and bread for family and friends.

  I too choose to listen to Christ instead of men.

  Tax Phobia?

  anyone afraid of doing their taxes?

  i just helped out a lady that is scared to death to do her taxes.

  she won't use an accountant (doesn't really need to) and won't try to do her own so i sat down with her and showed her how to use turbo tax on line.

  I pay in for the year but always file an extension. Then another until there are no more and then do them with my accountant, He already knows to file our extension.
