Its Time To Post!

hello all: i have been lurking around this site for over two years.

due to a recent post of someone claiming to be an elder (which has been removed) i have been motivated to post.

i have been around this site for well over two years and have read most of your posts carefully.

Dear Lurker, first I want to say welcome, I have read your post 4 times and all the others before I post back. I too was an elder, pioneer, served for more than 1/2 of my 22 years, but this is not about me. I feel your pain, the frustration of teaching others something that you no longer believe in. A heavy responsibility and yet what is in your heart will eventually come out. Not easy, knowing the truth about the "truth". I feel for you, having invested so much time and energy in to the org and now knowing the truth about many things. I too love my God and Christ and have now come to the conclusion (from reading the Bible) that it is about faith in Christ, love God and neighbor, and the simplistic message from the Bible that has brought me through it. I hope you find comfort from so many here that have gone through what you are going through. Keep reading, asking questions on how to handle your matters as there will be someone or many who can give you the wisdom and experience of how to handle your situation. Find comfort in the friends here who KNOW your pain and frustration, but even more importantly, throw your cares and burdens on God and Christ. May you find peace and happiness, take care.

Lyman Swingle (GB) told me what would bring down the Organization!

it was about 15 years ago.......... i was at a one day special event in woodburn or.

i was talking to lyman swingle about how the society could save some money.

it was a crazy idea ( to crazy to relate here)...............anyway he laughed and said to me.. "brother..........we have always had the money to do the things we needed to do.......and if we didn't.......we felt it was god's holy spirit telling us, it wasn't what we should be doing".......so...i said "so the money is like a barometer, no approval, no money"......he said "yea..... i guess you could say that!

Funny human reasoning, Money equates Gods approval?

Jesus who was said about him, I have approved Him, didn't even have a place to lay his head, finanicially had nothing and yet died with the most favor that one could have with God. God doesn't need money.

If money was the barometer for God's approval, I guess you could say that any organization that I had money at one time had His approval

The Catholic church was extremey wealthy and stil is, The oil rich Muslim nations and extremist have money, The Yankees, Drug Cartel, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, the list goes on and on.

1 Cor 3:18-20 18 Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say,

“He traps the wise
in the snare of their own cleverness.” [e]

20 And again,

“The L ord knows the thoughts of the wise;
he knows they are worthless

If the organization goes down because of a lack of funds because of the flock drying up or lawsuits, it is because they have reaped what they have sown, money does not equate to approval.

How do I have everlasting life?

here is a scripture that explains just that.. john 5:39-40.

39you are searching the scriptures, because you think that by means of them you will have everlasting life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me.. 40and yet you do not want to come to me that you may have life.. jesus clearly explains that it is not through the scriptures that we have everlasting life.

Amen brother, as I read the Bible after leaving the witnesses it becomes very very very clear why other religions say we don't believe in Jesus, Jesus Christ is the key central figure in God's arrangement and plan to reconcile men, the GB, all the lit and BOE are not even mentioned and this taking disciples after themselves is a serious sin.

Christ is the answer and the key to life, no one or anything else. All the Witness out there lurking, do yourself a favor and read the Bible (try using several Bible translations and compare the witness Bible against them and the Greek Words) and see the message that isn't in the mags or lit anywhere.

Pat Robertson Prediction

i didn't see this anywhere here, so thought you might be amused by this story.. i was watching fox news this morning.

they had a quick story about ole pat robertson predicting a major terrorist strike in the us sometime after september of 2007. millions would be affected (he didn't specify killed or what, just affected...).

but the kicker was this:.

I wish God would tell him the next 6 numbers of the lotto so he can get off the air and stop asking for money and turning people off from God and the real Good News, which is, Christ died for us; thank God.

Great story, as Jesus said no one show greater love than one who is willing to die for his friends, and this man didn't even know him, what a selfless act, it makes one wonder, would I have done the same thing? Now that is an example to imitate. Thanks for the article.

I think I'm screwing myself

get your mind out of the gutter, not screwing myself that way haha.. for those that don't know, i'm df'd, trying to get reinstated so i can get family/friends back in my life than fade away faster than the only good radio station you can tune in on a long road trip.

basically, i can't keep my mouth shut.

Is it wrong to be proud of achievements?

i don't want to have this come across as bragging, but i have to explain this to ask this question.

okay, where i work is a call center and i do sales, along with customer service.

for the last five years, out of 2500 representatives online nationally, i have been number one in sales for all months and years.

Free2blame, I have read the other posts and some real good advice. A good piece of info I heard on my first fulltime job my supervisor gave me

"the boss may not always be right but he is always the boss".

I have always excelled at all my jobs and have had others who want to suppress me and my achievments. I am now a realtor and my wife and I are the top realtors in our office, I never go to any awards ceremonies and have never been into being the center of attention. Whenever I have felt the need to leave my job in the past because of managment or other working peers trying to suppress me. I have put myself on the bidding block and have always done better with the new employer, HOWEVER I have always left and never played games with my former employer as I have always felt this would bite me later if I didn't leave. Be yourself and excel at what you do; just be willing either to move to another company or keep your mouth shut and still you might have a bulls eye on your back. Tread the waters lightly and remember everyone is replacable just to make a point. Jealousy is a deep emotion that many times has no limits. I wish you the best and it is a shame to have to deal with this because of being successful.

the witnesses always say they are free in christ, i beg to differ, i don't know how many stupid unscriptural laws they have but lets start a thread on how many dumb witness laws you know and have heard of that make no sense or completely unbelievable, it is like they have a second talmud.

cant have walt disney movies or stuffed animals as this is magical.

cant have beards.

Cant comment when first reinstated, cant give talks or parts on meeting when first reinstated
