Does The Memorial Mean ANYTHING To You???

Yes it does, for the first two years after I left the witnesses I was so disgruntled, disillusioned, upset, stumbled and every other possible negative emotion toward God and religion I didn't pray or read the Bible, however it always bothered me because this was the very reason that I joined the witnesses is because I know that I love God and Christ.

So after years of studying on my own, I have decided the last two years to have my own with family and friends, I now figure

WHY take this out on God and Christ? Just because the religion that I chose to join has misaligned, misrepresent and bring reproach on God and Christ, why should I take it out on Them. It wasnt their fault that the religion of choice done all the hurt.

So now in line with the scriptures and for all the God and Christ has done and will yet do for mankind. I choose to follow Christ's command to do this. It is such a little thing, to appreciate and memorlize his death and the signficance of it.

Anybody here ever FASTED before?

i usually fast three to four times a year, i am going on my third day now.

i get tremendous health benefits from it as i purge my body of impurities that we eat, drink and otherwise.

i feel much clearer mentally and physically.. has anybody else ever fasted, for how long, how did it help you and what did you do?.

greendawn, I usually do three day or four day periods, but yes I drink just water and then on the last day of my fast, start to incorporate veggies and fruit, I do also my own juicing which is real good. But I could never do what you did. I do it for just the benefits for a couple of days.

I think it is more of mindset in the beginning, then the drinking of plenty of water to flush the impurities and toxins, other wise they just relocate to other parts of the body and the pain then sets in. I have read of people getting sick because of not drinking plenty of water from themselves.

Usually on my second day of fasting, no matter what my work out is, I do it faster and stronger then norm. If you do it again, drink plenty of water and build yourself up to a couple of days.

How Important is Sex in a Marriage/Relationship?

i believe it is very important but i also heard it said.

"sex only plays as much importance in marriage for how long it takes".. how important is it to you in your marriage/relationship?.

is it only better when all things are going smooth, do you use sex to get what you want or use it as a tool for punishment?.

But there needs to be more than sex for a marriage to be satisfactory eg a good emotional life, and compatibility of characters.

Well put Greendawn, that is what my wife and I experience, good emotional life and compatibility, we have fun as a couple. things fall into place then with the other avenue.

CoCo, I have read volumns on fasting and do it for the cleansing benefits, my wife just watches and shakes her head but it is amazing when you study and research on the benefits and how to do it. I don't do all the colon cleansing stuff, but do drink Senna Tea, may sure you are close to the toilet and don't leave the house, but I usually dont eat bad for the most part either. When you get past the first 24-36 hours it becomes fairly easy, the hunger pains stop and then you start to release the toxins and drink plenty of water to flush them out.

I typically drop about 7-9 pounds in just 3 days of water then veggies and fruit for a day before I get back into eating normal. Good training of mind and body on self control.

i was df'd in 1976 and lived my whole life thinking the jws have the truth and i just could not live up to the standard and was doomed to die at the big a without question.

until i found jwd 31 years later.

Heathen, the Bible is really a simple book, there are parts of it we cannot understand like a child but when it comes to love, it is simple, you can misinterpret the scriptures but you cannot misinterpret love. Yes I agree with you. love God and Neighbor and as Christ said to the scribe.

You are not far off from entering the Kingdom

Yes and I will give it another many tonight. It is about technique and love, you must love the one you are with. But yes I can and do. abr

I did not find it cleansing or restorative in any way.

usually when we are made to do something against our will it usually isnt a good feeling.

True, Jesus true disciples will be loving. I agree 100% with that. But what kind of love is not based on truth?

No all love has to based on truth, God's Word is the only truth, it is not a form of worship based on an organization and what they establish as truth. One does not neccesarily have to be reading, thinking of or anything with the Bible to show love.

Does love accept lies and falsehood? Does love condone wrongdoing? Does love overlook serious crimes or sins?

Paul already gave the description of love in 1 Cor 13:4-8 According to the NLT it says

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages [ a ] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

Now looking at your questions, does it accept falsehoods and lies. I am not the judge but it would depend on the motive behind it and how knowledgeable the person was of their actions. Paul said that true love endures through every circumstance. We also do not have the gift of reading hearts as God and Christ can. Again the motive and if we can be re-educated and acceptable to what we may either believe or teach as wrongdoing or lies.

Never condones Wrongdoing but is patient, never rejoices with unrighteousness, but then again as Paul said it never loses faith but is hopeful that we get IT.

Does it overlook serious crimes and sin. IT DID IN OUR CASE, that is why Christ came in the first place.

How tolerant will God be with all these teachings? WHo knows? It is not our call, rather as Paul said allow yourself to readjusted but remember you can misinterpret the scriptures but you cannot misinterpret love.
