Just turn the keyboard upside down now and then, and gently shake. When the computer is off, wipe the keys and screen with a damp cloth. Now and then use one of those forced-air cans and blow out the insides of the computer -- the fan, for instance. And of course, quit reading funny things with food or coffee in your mouth. It's those sudden big laughs that spray food on the computer that are the problem!

"Something amusing to get you reading my post"
by frogonmytoe ini have been reading threads on here for months, having not been to a meeting in about 3 years, and spending the year prior to that avoiding them.
considering i am gay and now live with my boyfriend, i think we can consider me officially drifted, or fallen away, or whatever semantic nonsense the wts uses for specifying the manner of our waking up.
anyway, i thought it about time i said hello and hopefully make some new friends with whom i can talk about things.

years and years ago, when the nwt was new, it came out a few books at a time. Maybe it's a new translation, eh?

Working on a Sunday.
by LouBelle inwell i wouldn't really call it hard work, but i have to come into the office and sit and wait for the phone to ring.
i work every 3rd weekend and it really is unpleasant.
9 hours each day with nothing to do but wait for the phone to ring.

I used to do private duty nursing on the night shift -- many years ago. I learned to knit, so I could occupy myself and not die of boredom. Knitting and reading -- great users-up of time. I still really enjoy both of them.

I come here because JWS is gone, and I need some JW gossip now and then, also I like to see what folks are doing and saying. I like a nice little fight now and then on the forum, and I think it's really cool to find out stuff before the JWs do. Haha!!!

I'm sorry you feel so badly -- chronic pain is exhausting and depressing. And limited mobility can get pretty depressing, too. I hope you feel better soon.

Avoiding the subject
by dissonance_resolved inso as i progress in my fade, i've started to notice a curious phenomenon.
just when i think this will be the missed meeting/ field service/ assembly that will cause all heck to break to loose- no one says anything.
this includes immediate family and extended family in the same congregation.

could be they like you, too, and don't want to rock the boat. Or they just don't care enough to bother, which was true in my case.

I had an AHA! moment after I attended several different churches and realized they're all the same. I realized the idea of a "true" religion was false. No such thing. Then more AHA moments as I read more and more about evolution. The clincher, though, was learning about dark holes in the universe.

Has anyone heard about this group? Apparently it comes out of EST and Landmark, and Awaken the Dreamer. As far as I can find, it's another cult that believes the end of the world is near and only their members will survive. A story about an alliance with the achuar natives of Peru to "save" the world by creating enlightenment. One person's comment said they use the free labor of their members to hold seminars to recruit others.
