I was very shocked, and I guess somewhat naive, when I found out how many "brothers" had "worldly" girlfriends outside the org. Married men, not the single men. At the school I attended several women were dating married JW men.

Do you think "Blondie" is addicted to reading Watchtowers and Awakes?
by booker-t ini remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

Besides having a big party and trying to fit ALL of you in my apartment, I also wouldn't mind sitting in the corner listening to the smart folks on this forum -- Leolia, Cofty -- and the rest of you. You all know who you are. I'd love to listen to their dinnertime conversation! I'd come away smarter, guaranteed.

MUM! I've got a pot of homemade vegetable beef soup going right now. I like to serve it on mashed potatoes, for extra goodness. Come on over!
I know what -- Let's have a get-together! That's what they called it in my old KH. Potluck. There was one who always made yummy stroganoff with noodles and a Filipina who made lumpia and pancit. Yummmm. Adobo, too. And a Mexican woman from Texas who made her enchilada sauce from scratch -- I didn't know you could (at that time, at least), I always saw it in a can. Whatever house we used was always crowded with people, kids running around everywhere, everyone eating a lot and lots of chatting. Almost human behavior, in fact. Same with beach parties. But then, they'd go back to the KH and friendliness wasn't allowed in the door.

Passed my Post Grad with 'Outstanding' grade! Shows it's never too late.
by Lozhasleft ini've just had the official results on my pgce.
i'm not posting here to boast, but to encourage any who may have abandoned education because of the pressure as a jw, and who may feel that it's too late to return and achieve such goals.
in the 1980s i stopped halfway through my b.ed honours and accepted a dip.h.e.

Go ahead and boast -- you've earned it and can be justifiably proud of yourself.

Facebook caught harvesting
by Satanus inmost popular android app caught harvesting users contacts: facebookby daniel eran dilger.
facebook, the top-ranking free app in google play, has taken advantage of android's weak platform security to collect users' phone numbers as soon as the app is installed, highlighting core differences in apple's approach to protecting users' privacy and those of social-advertising firms like facebook and google.. .
the news of facebook's latest "leak" was outed by symantec after it analyzed various android apps using its norton mobile insight tool designed to "discover malicious applications, privacy risks, and potentially intrusive behavior.".

yeah. I don't care how much any of them talk about respecting privacy, they all harvest info one way or another, from the US government on down. I have no expectation of privacy online.

I go to the local library on the 50%-off day and buy books I resell online. I don't make a living from it, but I make walking-around money at least. Same with yard sales, junk stores, etc. You never know what you'll find that might be worth reselling.

thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

Sometimes we have the feeling that being straightforward is harsh, because most of us were brought up to be mealy-mouthed and to never offend anyone. You were direct, and also courteous and friendly. Good letter.

Internship
by Defianttruth ini hired three summer interns this year.
all three are senior level engineering students from my alma mater.
i had one working on a project with me and i asked him to replace a bolt on a machine we are building.

Oh dear, even I know what he should have looked for -- and I'm no engineer. Poor guy, I hope someone wises him up a little.
