  Well, here's what happens when you don't attend meetings. The community garden group elected me "compost captain" in absentia. I'm going to go over to linkedin.com and add it to my resume.
  
  Oh, and I have a new slogan: Je parle français comme une vache espagnole. I think I'll put it on a t-shirt, eh? I came across that today. It sums up the French attitude to foreigners speaking their language AND it pretty much sums up my ability to speak French.
  
  Sitting here, laughing to myself, and then looking around quickly to see if the guys from the funny farm are headed my way.

  The confidentiality issue is an important one and the employer could wind up being screwed. What about a JW nurse who discovers, through confidential medical records, that a member of the congregation had a secret abortion. What if the nurse reported it to the elders, violating HIPAA among other things? In a real case, it caused quite a mess.

  i was looking for july 15th watchtower article today to use the words type and antitype but they didn't.

  i wonder when they stopped using those phrases as it seems to be a few years.

  who was the person who liked to use that word like the person who loved to use antediluvian?

  My first time at a KH - especially to hear the New Light!!!

  i am not jw, and never intend to be one either.

  however, having read a lot about the july 15 wt, i decided to go to the kh today and check out how the new light was going to be delivered.

  i thought i would share my observations;.

  It doesn't make any sense, so attempting to understand the "new light" is pointless. So interesting to me that everyone just shrugged, out with the old, in with the new. Seems to confirm that they don't really know what they believe, anyway.

  i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .

  and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

  breakup guilt

  i recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.

  i gave her some money.. the guilt i am experiencing right now is absolutely anguishing.

  she had very, very high hopes about our relationship and loved me very deeply.

  She's an adult. She'll survive. Staying with someone that needy would drain you completely. Better for you to end the relationship and possibly find someone who could be a more equal partner.

  Akward Runs in with Congregation Members

  i had such an embarassing encounter with a memeber of the local kingdom hall once.

  mind you have i have been fading for over 6 months, and i've had no contact with anyone at the hall.

  i was walking up the stairs to my psychiatrist office when i heard other people behind me.

  A JW once came up to me when I was having lunch with a friend. After talking nicely for a bit, she said in a bit of a challenging way, "did you know you are 'bad association'?"

  I said, "well, then, why are you talking to me?"

  It isn't my problem if they think I'm bad association. I'm not going to observe their little rules for them.
