Had a long conversation with one of our local Mount Shasta denizens about Sasquatch. He says he has heard Sasquatch, but hasn't seen one. Says there is a law in Oregon against shooting Sasquatch, $500 fine and a year in jail. I asked if he thinks Sasquatch is a big ape, a relative of humans. He said no, and he doesn't think it's some kind of large bear, either. So I asked him why they don't seem to have found any dead Sasquatch bodies anywhere and he asked me when was the last time I saw any animal body in the forest. Fair point. The wild animals clean things up pretty well in the woods.
I asked what he thinks Sasquatch really is. He said it's a projection into our space/time from another dimension. What we see (except no one has really seen Sasquatch!) is just a three-dimensional representation of a multi-dimensional being.
I said the law in Oregon is interesting, but if someone shot Sasquatch he/she'd be really rich and famous in spite of a year in the pokey. He said that person would be infamous, an entirely different thing. I mentioned that the local Indian tribe, a hundred years or so ago, had a word for short little people they claimed lived on Mt. Shasta. I can't remember what the word was right now. I said I wondered what they meant, did it refer to some sort of animal like a raccoon, or did they really see some little race of people. This guy reads a lot, I thought he might have come across some interesting story, a bit of local lore, but suddenly it was all about Lemurians and Telos.
These conversations leave me dizzy, sometimes. This little guy, who looks incredibly like Humpty-Dumpty, seems to be carrying on an intelligent conversation and making an interesting point or two, then suddenly we're in outer space.

love the country, the lifestyle, can get by in the language.. just seen an advert for a country estate (british-owned) they want someone to live on site, do a bit of handyman stuff, etc., look after (mainly brit) holiday visitors in return for zero rent (only utitlties).
family would be abe to come and stay for free.

Be sure to get a clear understanding of their expectations, how much work and specficially what duties in return for rent. The clearer your agreement with them, the more likely it will turn out to be a dream deal.

Do you have a newfound thirst for self-expression after leaving the religion?
by Apognophos ini'm not even out yet and sometimes i feel like expressing my opinions loudly, wearing t-shirts with messages on them (gasp!
), and getting up in people's faces when they annoy me.
sometimes the thought of a fistfight sounds appealing.

I did lots of stuff "just because I could" when I first left the wtbts. Self-expression feels great, it was a wonderful experience to simply speak my mind whenever I wanted to. I toned it down after a while, but still said what I want to say whenever necessary.

Hi Mrs.,
Maybe just hang out and read posts until you are comfortable with the forum. There's no hurry, after all. Sooner or later you'll jump in and post your opinion on something and we'll get to know you then.
Welcome!

"Only if you get a court order." wink, wink
by rebel8 inrecently had a discussion with a surgeon who said jw parents "usually" (her word, not mine) privately say they will take blood if the provider gets a court order.. yet another person, with no connection to dubs and no motive to make this up, saying this same thing.
interesting.. i'm surprised the thought police have not come out with an article saying jehoopla reads the hearts and judges as bloodguilty those who are relieved when forced to take blood..

Now my sister and her entire family are out of the org. What a risk she took back then, although it worked out well, I wonder what she was really thinking

Do you eat foods labeled "low-fat"?
by compound complex ingreetings, health-conscious friends:.
i had a wonderful cup of peet's coffee today at a friend's house, but had only low-fat half-and-half to add.. just isn't the same .
.. what do you eat and drink?.

Foods labeled low-fat tend to have a lot of sugar, unless you just eat things that are naturally low-fat, like veggies and fruit, grains, blah blah blah
I just go ahead and have the real stuff in my coffee. It's only a spoonful, and only three cups a day.
