  i came across this phrase in the context of quantum mechanics.

  it's called the gell-mann's totalitarian principle.. i thought it summed up life in the watchtower quite accurately..

  Sorry you can't even rant here safely -- JWs don't play fair, do they? They are still loyal dubs, but also members of this site. I guess they use it to spy on you, if they know what your username is.

  Getting kicked out.

  my parents are getting a lot of heat from the congregation, and tension in my house was already super high.

  Some good advice here -- discuss with your parents what your options are, check out homeless shelters, find out whether there are services for people your age in your area. If you are a minor, find out whether there are child protective services that might help you. Breathe, keep calm, do your research.

  796 infant skeletons have been found discarded in a septic tank at the former mother and baby home run by the catholic church in ireland between 1925 and 1961.. unwed mothers were sent these "magdelene asylums" to be treated like criminals.

  their babies - if they survived - were taken from them.

  if they did not survive their bodies were thrown into a septic tank and forgotton.

  How do you cope with impaired mobility?

  greetings, my aging friends!

  before asking you this question, i tried to do some research on the thought that 'hard work never killed anyone,' but, man, can it cripple you!

  what i wanted to figure out is something better than you're getting older and tireder.. many of us have done hard physical labor most of our lives and see no prospect of retirement.

  Hard physical work does damage your joints over a long period of time. I have bad knees, from a fall many years ago, from a job where I stood and walked 8 hours a day for nearly 30 years, and from being overweight.

  I agree with bsmart -- I have lost weight and I've had the shots. First I had the cortisone shots, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone because of the side effects. Then I had the hyalgan shots -- that's the rooster comb stuff -- and it helps. It took three shots and some time but eventually it helped. It's 30 seconds of misery and about six months or more of relief, definitely worth doing.

  I couldn't exercise much before the shots, but now I'm up to 30 to 45 minutes of walking at a time without my cane! I think I probably can manage without surgery if I keep losing weight, walking and getting the shots as needed. I'm so thrilled about it, too -- last year I could barely walk at all, this year I can walk much more.
