Wine drinkers

how many on this forum enjoy drinking wine or beer?

on what occasions do you drink wine or beer?

I do like brewing and drinking mead. We have alot of blackberries, wild pear and apple trees on our place so that is what I use mostly. Wild sour apple mead is by far my favorite and I bottle it before the ferment is completely done to get a little sparkle out of it.

Mead is much easier to make then wine and it benefits from erratic temperatures during aging vs wine which requires a constant controlled temp. I get all the honey I need for free from a friend that has bee hives.

We also grow rhubarb so I use that and wild apples sometimes. You get a little sweet and sour action going on.

Are there any other mead drinkers here? Most stores do not even carry it and alot of people do not even know what it is. Everyone that has tried mine has completely loved it.

Suicide

i know it's a touchy subject, but anyone here has ever thought of suicide while they were still in the organization?

it seem to me that jehovah's witnesses have a much higher rate of suicide than the rest of the population.

i contemplated suicide myself when i was struggling to get piece of my life back together after being raised as a "perfect little jw" when i was young.

Anyone ever see documented proof of this claim? (BTW, Brent, I'm not questioning your observations. They sound reasonable to me, but still somewhat anecdotal.) If so, it could be one more powerful piece of information to tuck away for future use.

That is just an observation I made over the years being a cradle (ex) JW. I have no stats or studies but the vast number of people that I have known that have taken thier lives have been JW's. I have only had one non JW friend commit suicide. But I do not discount 43 years of observations either. My gut says is the rate is higher but a study would be very interesting/disturbing.

earlier this year, comet encke was passing a little too close to the sun when a coronal mass ejection (cme) hit the comet and ripped off its tail.

nasa's stereo spacecraft was watching and recorded it.. .

A coup against the Watchtower?

i believe that if enough "anointed" get fed up with the hypocrisy of the leadership, a coup may be likely if not inevitable.. .

what i've been wondering is: how would such a scenario play out in real life?

i'm sure we can agree that all the organizational power ultimately rests in the hands of the eleven little men in brooklyn known collectively as the governing body.

A coupe sounds like a great idea! I will build the torches and can get a great deal at Home Depot on pitch forks and kerosene. It can be like a party!

I have over the years crossed paths with a two JW ladies I was involved with but we broke it off. Both of them have had multiple divorces, drug addictions and were pretty much train wrecks. To think that I could have ended up married to either of them makes me shudder. The "truth" did not do much for them when reality knocked on thier door.

Seeing them was like having a wet blanket thrown on my little lingering flame that I still may have had for them.

I would guess they would considering they are outgassing from the time they pass jupiter. The video shows some material being thrown off immediately after the tail blow off.

Of course if it's an American comet it would first try to apply for disability benefits. It would also have a t-shirt made up saying "gaseous tail amputee survivor" and then do the tv talk show circuits.
