  Why did we have to replace 'deaf' with 'hearing impaired'? They mean the same thing and are people that can't hear insulted by the word deaf? I know that some of the terms got twisted into insulting language such as dumb, retarded etc. Those were originally medically descriptive terms. Who's to say that the PC terms we are now commonly using will not get twisted again? Then what? There are only so many descriptive words available in the english language. Somewhere in the future we will have nothing but foriegn words left to describe a condidtion. I find that rediculous and completely devoid of any logic.

  The entire PC movement has done nothing to me that makes me see anything or anybody differently. I was raised that racial slangs were bad words and not to be used. That was way before the PC movement.

  Have you changed your mind about ABORTION?

  i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.

  maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.

  did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.

  California Wildfires = The end?

  i just got a call from my jw mom asking if i was watching the news.. i'm like, "no, what's up?".

  i'm imagining something must really be up, like we invaded some more countries or mushroom clouds over american cities, or maybe somebody famous did something horrible in public, or something.. she tells me 'half of california is burning.'.

  i'm like "yeah, it's been doing that for a while now.".

  If I had a nickel for everytime one of my family said this is a sign that "the end" is near. Somebody really needs to tell them how completely dumbassed they sound. It's easy to lie to other people but it takes a special type of ignorance to lie to yourself (repeatedly).

  i don't like cigarettes all that much (even though i actually tried to take up the habit, i found out i don't have an addictive personality - same reason why i'm not a coffee person either) but i do enjoy a nice cigar.

  notice i said a nice cigar, not those nasty chemically-flavored things that taste like froot loops and smell like a crotch fire.

  i'm talking about a nice cuban monte cristo or a real leaf-wrapped cigarillo.

  I do have alot of fun playing the game to extremes just emphasize how completely stupid it is.

  BTW, I am enjoying our native american summer here in WA state along with the cold challenged days we are having.

  The only problem with just calling him a thug is that our local news media will not even describe his ethnicity even though he/she may be wanted for multiple murders. By adding thier ethnicity the chances of someone spotting the thug would go up 100%.

  PC is great for "feelgoodism" but is accomplishing nothing by making it easier for thugs to blend in to the crowd and not get caught? The same goes for profiling a certain ethnicity of those wanting to board a plane. Word games are all nice and sweet until people end up dying from it.
