I am still waiting for her to add something positive and beneficial to the forum. So far she just looks like a bitter old woman that has no life at all and enjoys negative attention because that is all she can get for now.

this morning at 6:55 (i know because i looked at my watch) a little black girl maybe 7 years old came up to me by herself to offer me a tract... i mean come on it's still full freaking dark out and this poor little kid is handing out tracts alone.
i asked her "where are your parents.

with out knowing all the facts.
Most child abductors are not concerned with "facts" . They see an un-guarded child and ten seconds later that child is gone. Every week we see on the news kids that are snatched right out of stores not more 10-20 feet away from thier parents on video. That is what the word predatory means.

STOP THE MADNESS....where is this board going?
by SnakesInTheTower ini've only posted since feb 07..but i have lurked for several years prior and there was usually something interesting on the board.
as i was reading the active topics list this morning, only a couple things jumped out at me as interesting...its been this way since the dgate and tgate incidents.... i was discussing this with a long time poster via im yesterday....does it seem to anyone else that so many of the topics are ...i dont know....odd...or different than they used to be...and i dont mean that in a good way.. i miss the newbies coming on and telling us their stories.... i miss the long time posters updating us on their lives post-borg... i guess with the recent uproar, the lurkers are hesitant to become newbies (cant say as i blame them now...we probably scared them off , and maybe the vets are just as hesitant...after all, someone went 2 years with their fraud/hoax...who will believe anyone else now?
i hope this is just a temporary cycle on this board..i have read many many posts from the archives...i hope one day soon we can get back to a happy medium here.. by the way, i like the fluff threads, but these seem to be more and more sex related (maybe that word will wake someone)... yet they get all the attention....and then someone goes too far and it gets locked down by a mod and the poster restricted......(i am not a prude...just sometimes enough is enough).

I never have posted my story yet. Throughout my postings over the last nine months I have alluded to bits and pieces of it. During my fade I was working as an EMT so I got to see the inside story of some of the JW's in my own and surrounding halls. Physical and emotional trauma has a way of revealing the real person vs the actor or actress's that we see at the halls.

Why is that surprising since this is the same religion that would allow thier own child to die a slow and horrifying death from blood loss? I hope at least that you drop a short note to the local cong. letting them know what you saw and the extreme risks involved. The parents will not change thier behavior unless they hear it from an elder. If that does not work then a quick letter to the editor of the local news paper may shame them into watching thier kids better.
Even if nothing changes you will have at least tried if one does get abducted. Think about how crappy you would feel if you did nothing?

Are You Angry That You Didn't Get To Celebrate The Holidays?

i think birthdays and xmas are important ones to make sure that you give and get gifts.
perhaps it's because i never experienced the "joy of the holidays".

I was at first but after 24 yrs of having holidays I get a little burnt out on them. For me Christmas is way too stressful and expensive and I am always glad when it's over. So in hindsight I never really missed anything. I am not a grinch but I stopped being a retail spending puppet a long time ago.

Have you ever wondered why memories are so powerfully linked to smells?
Of our five senses smell is the only one that goes directly to our limbic brain and not through our higher brain first.
My grandparents on my dad's side were not JW's and smoked heavily. I always loved going over to eastern WA to visit them as a kid but because they were "worldly" is was not very often. Once a year I would spend a week or two there and got a brief chance to experience normalcy away from the JW's. I have many warm memories going over in the fall and helping gramps harvest the 160 acres of apple orchard and spending entire days on the boat fishing Lake Chelan.
So as un-healthy as cigarette smoke is it triggers some wonderful memories for me. My grandparents were an island of sanity for me as a kid and they went out of thier way to spoil me in an attempt to make up for me never having birthdays or Christmas. If heaven has a VIP suite my grandparents are living in it becuase they deserve it.
