  Giving back instead of just taking

  i gave blood today for the first time.

  it really felt good, except for the s&m practicioner that stabbed me with the god-awful big needle.. sooner7nc.

  I am O- and used to donate alot. But my blood had antibodies to a disease that I never had so I had to have aditional tests that were very painful. It always came out negative and after a few of those I stopped. O neg is very much needed but I am not going to go through the testing anymore.

  I am glad that you decided to donate and hope others do also.

  LOL! I guess it's OK for them to chase thier tails because that is considered playing with a friend. It is much more serious when a body part becomes your enemy and actually attacks you.

  watching the democratic debates i was struck how every candidate, save dennis kucinich, pledged to prevent iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

  iran is a sovereign state, diplomacy which ends in 'you can't have this, but we can' will not work.

  what would happen if another country told us we couldn't have nukes?

  Israel is not a signatory to the NPT so they have not violated any international agreements. If the world's governments wanted them to reduce or eliminate thier nukes it would have to be through diplomatic requests and incentives.

  Iran would be in a much safer position if they had not signed the treaty, but they did and have to deal with the consequences of doing so.

  i wanted to know everyones opinion on him losing his show and his comments.. first of all i do think his comments warrant the cancellation of his show, but it should have never got that far.

  when you are talking with family it should never leave the house.

  it should stay behind closed doors.

  I spoke to a member of the HLC for 2 hours on Saturday.......

  i mentioned on a recent post about an elder who had asked to visit with me on saturday...........he was a friend of my dad's for years.

  so he came on saturday morning and we spoke for several hours in a pleasant and friendly manner but discussing a lot of jw related subjects.. so in light of the recent death of a young jw mum i thought i would share with you all some of the comments made by this elder who is one of 5 elders on the hlc for our area.. he was quite proud of the work he does helping both jws facing the situation of blood transfusion and his dealing with the medical staff involved.

  i told him i would have a blood transfusion now if it was deemed necessary and that i would battle for my son to have one, who is nearly 15, despite the fact that his father has bought him as a jw.

  Listening to anyone defend the JW's is just like listening a woman that is in an abusive relationship. You will not get a straight answer and most of the ones you get will be prefaced with "but....".

  I never said or even implied all of them did. I will say that any that do should stop and for several reasons, nobody should be defending the N word for any reason.

  I saw a concert on PBS with 4 or 5 slide guitar players at the same time. I think it was Robert Randolph but the video links just show him playing. It was some crazy ass cool stuff.
