i'm new to the forum (in fact, i just joined about 10 minutes before starting this post), and am a new jw (i began learning and attending meetings since about november of '06).
i have a question involving my girlfriend and i, and i'm hoping to find a moral answer.
my girlfriend and i fell in love two summers ago, and we're still pretty young (we're turning 17 this year).
I can't speak for the rest of you but since this person is a minor I will stay very far away from any communications re sex. The original post is not a "plumbing" question, it's about sexuality.
If my minor daughter happened across this forum I would sincerely hope all of you would have the descretion to direct her questions back to her parents or a school nurse/counselor.
for those that don't know, here's the cliffs notes version.. i've been df'd for 5 months now for giving in to an addiction i have.
i want to be reinstated so i can gian my family and a few close friends back in my life then i will fade like a bad dye job.
here's the reinstatment letter i have thus far i am open to any input at all.. dear holier-than-thou brothers,.
Why even bother at all? I faded and was still treated the same as if I was DF'd. The sooner you stop playing thier stupid ass games the better you will be. It is very likely that down the road a few years you will really regret jumping through thier goofy controlling hoops. Why prolong your agony? I still regret not leaving even six months earlier then I did and 23 years later beating myself up over it.
Don't even waste a piece of paper out of your printer on them. The people you think are your friends are not, trust me on that one. Even if they choose to quietly stay friends with you they will always be hitting you over the head trying to get you back.
It's just not worth it.
have you ever met and had chance to talk to someone "famous"?

I was good friends with Howard Leese of the group Heart for several years. He had an unusual gun that required custom made ammo that could not be purchased in a store. Back in the late 80's and early 90's I had a small home business manufacturing ammo. He found me at the gun show in Puyallup WA and asked if I could load ammo for his new pistol.
So for several years we would talk on the phone about target shooting and problems he was having with his pistol. He would be at the gun show every couple months to chat and drop off some used brass to be reloaded.
Howard was a great guy and rarely spoke about the band or performing. To him it was just a job and was far more interested in the shooting sports. I am very much a Heart fan but I was careful not to bug him too much about "work".
My wife is a paramedic and has done many concert stand by shifts at the Tacoma Dome. She has met Bruce Springstein, Garth Brooks, Tonya Harding, Alan Jackson, The Eagles, Carlos Santana, Rob Elliot of Def Lepard and many others. She met Alan Jackson because he showed up to the T-Dome completely drunk off of his butt. Drunk enough his manager was concerned he was not going to be able to do the show. After a couple hours he evaporated off enough to do the show (sort of).
yep my fade has come to a stop, got the phone call off my dad today he asked me if i celebrate christmas and birthdays and i said yes, and so he said they are going to go ahead with the disassociation letter i sent over two years ago!!!!..
he said that after today the only phone calls i will get are if there is an emergency, but nothing social my response to that was well you havnt seen or spoken to me for over a year im used to it.. he also said there was no bad feelings and that i should never doubt there love for me, and that the stupid thing of it is they can associate with mike and the kids just not me.. im really happy and calm about it, ive had my initial cry over it, and now i feel good that i dont have to lie and hide things anymore.. its such a relief.. luv ya all.

After my daughter was born my wife and I explained to my JW mom that we are a packaged deal. She either accepts all of us or there will be none of us. The grandmother urge was stronger then the JW beliefs were. I had to explain to my mom that my daughter will not be exposed to a toxic environment of minds games and conditional love.
Sometimes you have to force them to put a price on thier goofball doctrines. You can have a screwball belief but we must also make it clear to them that there are consequences to all of them.
It came down to "Mom, do you want to be a grandma to my daughter or not?" It was a yes or no question. She said yes.

Congradulations!!!!! You will never regret it. Things will only improve for you from here on out. Twentythree years later I have never once been tempted to go back. The only downside is not leaving them earlier then I did. I will always kick myself for not getting out sooner but I can't change the past.

Don't forget college education. My parents would not even allow me to take college prep classes in high school. So after I graduated I had to pay to take the same classes that were free while in high school. Now it's OK for JW's to attend college. It would have been nice to be able to go stright into college after graduating from high school. Thanks WTBTS!!!!

this morning i had to scrape the ice off my windshield and back window.. on the way to work i saw many a frozen front lawn and most cars were covered with ice like mine.. all on the outskirts of los angeles.. it must be "global warming".. warlock.
Well I am not smoking anything, just reading about the solar system and find it interesting that two planets that are both experiencing shrinkage of thier ice caps. Some additional reading also shows that Pluto is warming.

Around 2020 the global warming fad will have run it's course and people will have grown bored with it. Right now a small group of panic mongers is debating what the next apocalypse is going to be. I can't wait. Sounds like an organization we know about.

I asked my wife when we were on a ski vacation in Whistler BC. We were having dinner at a Japanese steak house there and I dropped the ring in her glass of wine while she was in the restroom. It was at least 15 minutes before she found it. When the waitress found out she made big announcement to the entire resturant. So much for keeping it quiet and private, but it was really cool.

All of the cell phone accidents are because of me. I use telepathic/psychic energy to destroy as many of them as possible. Cell phones bug and annoy the living crap out of me. When someone calls me on one I hang up because I can't understand them. Everyday I get stuck behind someone in thier car that is focused more on flapping thier pie holes then thier driving. Everybody thinks that I need to hear thier conversations so I know what a pathetic life they have. BTW, those stupid ass ringtones are not cute and they annoy the hell out of just about everyone else. If you have a ringtone programmed make sure you have the volume up high enough that you can hear your obnoxious phone 3-5 miles away. We would not want you to miss your 87th call of the day now would we!
Maybe someday I post what I really think of cell phones.
