this may not be the case in the usa, australia etc but whenever i buy strawberries they are disappointing in that they are not sweet at all and only the addition of sugar makes them reasonably good.

only once i had strawberries that were sweet as they should be, i believe they were from scotland, otherwise they are just colour they look good to the eye but they are not tasty (aren't they like the watchtower society?

does anyone know of specific sweet varieties that can be grown at home?

As mentioned above, if you grow your own they will be very sweet. They are very easy to grow and require very little care. We also have the small wild strawberries growing on our property. They are only the size of a pencil eraser but they have ten times more aroma and flavor. We made the mistake of transplanting some of them into our flower beds. By the next year they sent out runners in all directions and took over the flower beds. So we decided to remove them and just pick the wild ones.

If you have any local farmers markets you may be able to get them picked ripe also. I would never buy them out of a grocery store.

I like them on shortbread that has been lightly soaked with scotch and topped with real wipped cream.

Help with posing pictures

i've tried twice to post my watchtower covers tonight, the pictures appear for a while then they disappear.

If you resize them you can upload alot of pictures to Photobucket before you have ot go Pro. They also upload within seconds instead of several minutes.

I use Quick Web photo resizer, you just drag and drop your pictures from your album.

Does eating a rare steak = eating blood?

i always wondered about this when i was still a jw.

i just assumed that it was improper for a jw to eat any meat that wasn't thoroughly cooked, especially steak.

i though everyone could see that the red juice contained blood, which, if eaten, amounted to a violation of the prohibition against eating blood.

Yes it does but don't tell the JW's that. They would have to create yet another hypocritical rationalization.

How did you spend Sunday?

i spent mine enjoying a traditional sunday romp in the rural idyll that is england, communing with nature.. this, for those who dont know, translates as getting lots of manure on my shoes, nodding politely at passing ramblers, edging away from the well endowed bull, walking for a couple of miles, limbo-dancing under electric fences, and then fighting for a table along with the countryside's finest and their dogs, tucking into a traditional sunday lunch and a pint, then walking it back off - wondering if i a) i just ate one of the bull's babies and b) if i did, can he smell it?!.

I spent most of the day hammering on red hot iron and cold copper. A couple people want some belt buckles so I will be busy on those for a few more days. Me and my daughter also practiced soccer for a couple hours until I ran out of gas.

I tried it but some Islamic fundamentalists hijacked the plane and forced it to land in Oman. Then after refueling they flew it to Turkey. The good news is I scored 7692 miles!
