I bought the special mag organizer, the tract holder, and the OKM binder that holds about 3 years of them. I have to admit I later thought it was just another example of business-minded JW's taking advantage of other JW's...kinda like the JW-owned company I used to work for.

They are pretty good at love-bombing new ones in the congregation and acting like they are good people in public. Fooled me.

Why don't Lurkers Post?
by sweet pea inwhen i came to the realisation that my whole religious upbringing was in question and i was led to this site, i immediately wanted to get involved - i could see that there was a lot of caring, spiritual people here that had created an amazing community and i wanted to be a part of that community (to release some pent up feelings and to maybe help others in some way) but having read that many of you guys lurked for months and in some cases years before you finally posted - i'm intrigued as to why?????
was it selfishness - couldn't bring yourself to commit and be a part of the community, you were just content to observe?
was it laziness?

Fear, paranoia, indoctrination, lack of critical thinking skills, laziness, apathy, numbness, insecurity, lack of typing skills, poor internet connection, nosy spouse wondering what internet site his/her spouse is on at the moment...could be any of these reasons or combination thereof.

Awesome...I so much wish I would have been more logical, did my research fully, and wasn't so impulsive. I was like your mom who did the research and yet still joined.
You seem to have it all together. I wish you all the best in your pursuit of that baptism annulment.
Wishing I could annul mine, too, but can't since I was 25 when it happened,

A few years ago, we visited some friends in another town. Their congo didn't have enough publishers to effectively cover all their territory, so what they did was to knock once. If no one answered, they put a bible study (Would You Like to Know More about the Bible?) tract in the door and went on. They wouldn't write that house down to try again later. If someone did answer, they immediately tried to place the magazines and start a bible study. We covered a lot more houses that way, and the territory was turned in faster by not trying to go back to houses where no one was home the first time.

Sister/Brother *** is disfellowshipped for.....
by Bonnie_Clyde inin the 1950's i remember they used to say what they were disfellowshipped for, whether it be fornication, stealing, etc.
then it was disfellowshipped for "loose conduct", then "conduct not becoming a christian.
" then it was simply "disfellowshipped" or "disassociated.

I remember when they announced disfellowshippings in other local congregations too.
*** w63 7/1 p. 412 What Disfellowshiping Means ***Neither can he feel that by moving to another congregation he will be freed from the sanctions placed upon him. The local congregation will be notified and public announcement made of his disfellowshiping for the protection of the congregation there.
They don't publicly announce it if you move to another congo. Instead, the elders privately tell any individual seen associating with you. That's probably worse than the public announcement, imo.

Isn't Jehovah a wonderful God?
by nvrgnbk inwhen i look around at all the people in the world, i'm comforted to know that jehovah will soon destroy them.. i'm talking about people that don't attend our encouraging christian meetings.
yes, people that don't zealously participate in the preaching of the good news.
'what good news?

I don't wanna die...I'll be good...I'll come back to the meetings. I can play along. I'll randomly underline my watchtower and pretend to follow along in my bible. I'll raise my hand when the conductor isn't looking so it looks like I'm trying to participate. I'll go to the doors by myself and pretend to knock, and if anyone comes to the door, I'll simply ask if they need something to read and stick a magazine in their hands. Then I'll make 2 hours of service into 3 on my report by counting all our breaks and counting driving to and from the hall and always rounding up by half hour increments. I'll be a good little dubby. I will. I will...*sniff*

I remember the Jesus and the Argonauts one...it's been a while though
That reminds me, I'm gonna check the dvr to see if any new ones are on there.
I love the Pikachu ones. I've seen 2 so far. The one about what goes on inside the ball he lives in, and the other when Pikachu's friend is saying "What the ___ am I even saying???"
