  What does your city/town smell like??

  while on vacation, we drove through amarillo.

  the smell of cattle was everywhere.

  for the citizens of amarillo, texas, that is the smell of money.. in my town, we have the nearby paper mill, weyerhaeuser.

  There is no distint smell to the air here but its so clean and crisp.

  You notice the difference when you go to a larger town.

  But agree it smells like home

  Need Everybody's Help!!

  ok - i've placed myself in a make or break situation.

  i don't post a lot so you may not be familiar with me, but feel free to read my initial post on my situation.

  a little has changed - i've now not turned in a service report the last two months (june and july) - first time in 25+ years, it feels great!

  You have some great info here.

  But i have one question will this just confuse your wife more than actually making her see 'the light'.

  Her reply basically is would you want to raise them as a JW? And before i can say anything she says - think how we turned out, pretty good right? i mean we are moral, don't smoke, lead good lives etc... So this gives me a quick easy answer - YES I would want to raise them like that - to be moral, and good, and lead Christian lives. She says - i wish you would talk to me about how you feel. Being this involves whether we will have a child - i feel i owe it to her at this point, being the ONLY reason i pretty much have been avoiding wanting one is because I don't want to bring him/her up believing their salvation is dependent on this organization. So my answer: I WILL. Give me a few weeks to get my thoughts in order and I'll tell you how i feel.

  I can totally understand you not wanting to bring a child into this world into the JW.

  You can bring up great kids in this world but in the end its up to the child how they will turn out even the best parents can have problem children raised either in or out of the JW.

  Be honest with her on how you feel and explain with proof from the JW publication about what you want her to know. Be prepared for some battles.

  I JUST FOUND OUT.......!!!!!!

  that im having another baby!!!!!.

  just done the test and the line came up straight away....... we were planning on falling pregnant in about three months and happend to fall pregnant straight away...im still in shock but had to share it with you all my family.

  This is one thing i enjoyed doing.

  It got me out of the local area.

  I enjoyed that it got me some time with my dad.

  I made some great friends over the years and got to see the other side of the JWs.

  I never really did anything while there though, come to think of it what did i do????????

  Life Goes too Fast

  i'm getting depressed lately realizing my life is fast comming to an end.

  so many of my acquaintances in this life are dying and it won't be long before i will be gone.

  there is nothing we can do to stop it.

  I totally agree that life goes too fast.

  My son just had his 3rd birthday this last week it only feels like yesterday he was born and my daughter just turned 9 where did that time go??????????

  It must be hard being in your 70's and seeing ones dying around you.

  Enjoy your life and spend quality time with your kids and grandkids (if this is possible)

  Volunteer at a local service.

  I know money can be tight to do the things you want to do and that gets frustrating.

  Simple things can bring the most pleasure.
