satanus, in response to your question, and it may get a little biblical, it is all about love. Love comes from the Spirit of God, and changes you from the inside out. When you go to Jesus, He gives you His Spirit.

As for all the debate and speculation on whether or not God and His Son actually exist, I can tell you I know this to be certain for these reasons:

1. I spend time with them and they are exactly the people (by this I mean that they have the same character, honest, kind, compassionate, merciful, and righteouss) that the bible describes them to be.

2. They tell me things are going to happen before they do, and when the time comes, what they said would happen does. So yes, Both Jesus and God can tell you the future if they want to.

3. Knowing that they do not lie, they told me themselves who they are.

Whether or not you believe me, even if you never tell me you did this, why not ask them yourselves? You don't ever have to tell anyone you asked. It only takes a moment. If you are humble about it (and please realize that God speaks to whomever He chooses and does what He wants), He may show you the truth in a way that you cannot deny.

As far as the prison thing, I was in a two man cell 23 hours a day, and it was the first time in at least a month (I had only been there a month, it may have been longer) they had passed out bibles, and it was the day after I asked God for the first time to give me one to show me whether or not He wanted me to believe. If we are going to talk odds here, it's better to get the facts straight. Besides that, He healed me from Hepititis C (which is something the doctors can't even cure), and has spoken to me directly. He has done many other things, which I could list a few, but hopefully this will be enough to show you.

I could go through all the reasons in the world, but the decision is yours. If you want to know Him, talk to Him. I recommend you do, the Lord is a very good person. If you don't it's your loss.

Like I've been saying, I don't just follow a book, I know Jesus personally. Perhaps if you were to ask Him yourself whether or not He is there and the bible is the truth, He would show you Himself.

As far as my connection to the jw's, I posted earlier that I just follow the Lord. I do not fall into any denomination, nor do I choose to. I know Jesus, and mostly what He wants from me is to love His God, Him, and my brothers and sisters, and to follow Him.

Denominations have become pretty political, and you can choose to worship the Lord in their specific ways, but the truth is that both Jehova and His Son are real people, and if you want to know them, all you have to do is go to them and ask. You don't have to be a member of a specific church, read certain material, go through any school, do any sort of work, all you have to do is ask.

Relationships take work, and if you want to have one with the Lord (as a son, daughter, or whathaveyou) then it takes commitment, sacrifice, honesty, and of course love. There are good times and bad times, but sharing all your times with someone you love and who loves you makes even the bad times better. I can tell you, just by spending time talking with Jesus, and going through life with Him and His Father that they are good people, really patient, kind, and understanding.

Why not ask God to know Him? What do you have to lose? I'm not a liar, nor do I believe in lying. I'm not trying to get you to join a church, or anything. Just want to introduce you to the two who created you and love you. You can go to them anytime, anywhere, and it's something you can do on your own, without me or anyone else. The choice is yours.

I have considered all of your posts, and even asked Jesus the questions you reccomended.

His answers were that He is not only in my mind, yes and no, it does not matter to Him if I die.

As far as reducing God into something other than He is, I do admit that I don't fully understand Him, but I do know Him personally. I can tell you that He made us like He is (not the other way around) in as far as that He has His own mind, heart, soul, and will. He created us this way to be His children, and has given us much to understand Him, such as:

Our own mind heart soul and will.

The capcity to make decisions.

The knowledge of good and evil.

Children to raise (which helps us understand Him).

The ability to create and destroy.

Lives full of experiences, both good and bad.

A means of communicating to Him.

And other things which He gives to His children (those born of the Spirit of God) such as:

Understanding of righteouss judgement.

Love, which He puts in our hearts after we go to Him.

The desire to be righteous.

Various abilities such as healing others, authority over demons, understanding of the future, which come as He wills.

Anyways, I hope these things further your knowledge of God. Please remember, if you ask Him to show you, He may very well.

satanus, I don't mean to assault you. There is a very real truth here, that we have consiquences for our actions. Please don't take it as a threat, but a warning from someone who is concerned about your well being.

As far as believing in my God, that is between you and God. I cannot make you go to Him. I just want you to realize the severity of the things you do, and I hope that you will at least consider all these things.

JamesThomas, my response to you is the same. God is who He is, and our beliefs don't change Him. Why not just ask Him who He is, and let Him show you? You have nothing to lose.

Oh, by the way, it isn't your disbelief in Him that condemns you. Condemnation comes from the consequences of the things you have done. If you believe in Him, He forgives you. Clean slate. He will even help you to do rightly afterward, if you ask.

satanus, I hope you consider these things. If we are right, how do you think God feels about you picking on His people? What things do you do right now that you will have to answer for?

Jesus is very forgiving, but He is a judge, and you will have to answer to Him.

More than that, if you were to turn to Him, He could give you peace, and even bless your life to where you have satisfaction, and joy.

Hmmm, that is an interesting perspective.

One thing does remain though, and it is in your hands. I challenge you to do this:

Ask allah to reveal Himself to you, then ask buddah, then ask any other god you can think of. When you are done with those guys, ask Jesus and see what happens. If there are other gods, surely they'll answer. If it's all untrue, Jesus won't either. If you look at it logically, you have nothing to lose save time. But if you don't, there is still the issue of paying for everything wroung you have ever done, the consequences of which may vary. You may lose out on knowing your creator. You may even be condemned to hell.

When I say that I don't mean to misrepresent my God, or His decisions. He doesn't send people to hell for not believing in Him. That is determined by what you have done in your life. What He does do when you believe in Him is forgive you for the things YOU have done (no matter what they are).

I hope you see that there really isn't much reason not to ask Jesus if He is there, or to seek His help.

Well whether you believe it or not, He's not just God when you believe in Him. He helps you all the time, with or without your faith. One thing does happen when you believe in Him though, He completely changes your heart, so that you will find it hard to do wroung, and easy to love and be good.

Perhaps if I gave you a little of my history it would help:

Ex-con, ex-drugdealer, ex-metalhead. I used to think believers were nuts, especially when they did things like fasting. When I landed in prison, I read the whole bible exept for psalms. I needed a bible of my own, and asked the chaplain (Pastor on the unit) for a bible. He said they didn't have any. I got down that night and said to God "if this is something you want for me, please send me a bible. The next day, another inmate came by (without my asking) with about 4-5 bibles and handed me one of them. God answered me. Since then I have had hepititis c healed, seen other people healed, heard the voice of the Lord, and have seen many miracles.

If I was only hearing a voice that did not exist, then the voice could not do miracles, or answer my prayer. It would not love me, and take care of me.

I know this is hard to believe, but let me ask you this:

How many people out there claim that Jesus did something for them? How many people out there believe in Jesus?

There is either a really big confusion, or maybe He really does exist.

I assure you, I am quite sound. Schizphrenics don't even make sense when they talk. Their sentences are usually broken, and confused, and most of the time they cannot function.

Actually I really just want to point to a living person, not just quote a book. Like I say, I know Jesus. I talk to Him and He answers, and I'm not the only one who hears from Him. If ever you want to know Him (and I don't just mean blindly believe in something, but have a real relationship with the one who made you), all you have to do is ask Him. That's right, you're not obligated to go to church, read anything I've written, wear certain clothes, take communion, or anything else. Just ask and see what happens.
