like the rest of the bunch of hypocrites they have abandoned all the ideals that they once claimed to have and are now more than happy to have their nose in the trough.. for all the criticism of thatcher (who transformed the country from the tatters it was left in under labour) they have made things much, much worse in terms of difference between rich and poor.. notice too how labour donators seem to have particularly done well, as has mrs blair - her latest contribution sapping money from local education and giving it to fundamentalist muslims in bogus human rights legalities.. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=398578&in_page_id=2.

I think that Tony Blair has done a great job. I've never been so well off financially since his party took over. Nor has Her Ladyship. My Mum has more benefits than she ever had too. He's likeable, eminently qualified to mix with statesmen and is an excellent ambassador for our country.
Great job, Tony, you've got my vote in the next election. Now just get a bit heavier with GB and you'll be fine.

last month, so they told us, they went to the opera, in sheffield.
just before the opera started a couple of security guys arrived and asked them if they would please stand so that 2 people could pass them to some vacant seats further along the row.. .
To dispose of the monarchy would mean disposing of our own sense of identity. We are a monarchical country, after all.
Monarchys are also far more stable than republics.

About the only thing Labour have got right is starting the ball rolling to abolish them.

My Sister in law Jackie and her hubby came to visit this weekend.
Last month, so they told us, they went to the opera, in Sheffield. Just before the opera started a couple of security guys arrived and asked them if they would please stand so that 2 people could pass them to some vacant seats further along the row.
To their astonishment, the couple turned out to be Charles and Camilla!
Jackie said that they were charming and friendly. She said that Camilla was immaculately dressed and looked much more attractive in real life than she did in the many photo's of her.
Well, whatever. I wish them all the best for the future.
Here's to Royalty! Long may it continue!

we were aboard the "arosa sun" and sailing from new york to plymouth, england.

Just once.
I was on the way home from the 1958 assembly at Yankee Stadium. We were aboard the "Arosa Sun" and sailing from New York to Plymouth, England. The ship was pretty well 50 - 50 split between British and German.
When we arrived at Plymouth, the British contingent disembarked whilst the Germans stayed on board to continue on to Bremerhaven. The Germans were lining the decks of the ship waving goodbye to us.
Suddenly, we heard a faint singing from the bow end of the ship. Then it spread right along until the whole vessel reverberated with the song.
It wasn't a Kingdom Song either. It seemed that the whole of Plymouth Sound was ringing to the strains of "Now is the Hour".
Now that was emotional.
I've come over all teary-eyed now...I think I'll go watch Casablanca again..
