So that's what those birds are called!
Saw zillions of 'em in Florida, nothing like them over here. We don't have termites either.

houston, texas (ap) -- like a scene from the horror movie "the birds," large black grackles are swooping down on downtown houston and attacking people's heads, hair and backs.

just curious... we had a poll here in the uk as to who was the most famous brit of all time.
i was so underwhelmed that i can't remember who even won it.
it wasn't churchill, that's for sure.
Ah Churchill..this is pretty good. Some excellent examples of Churchill's speeches in audio:
i'm not a fan.
i have seen the first one, many yonks ago.
i believe there were another couple made sometime around the late 70's.
Englishman, I agree with Evil, and that might just be a first. But, when you buy the boxed set, make sure to get it on DVD or VHS, not Beta. DVDs are these little chrome disks that look like CDs. Do you know what CDs are? And VHS is like a magical cassette tape with moving pictures
God..they'll be making talking pictures next thing you know.. Englishman.

No rock, ha ha!
I just sort of switch off whenever Star wars is mentioned. Just like I do when Maria Carey turns up on the telly. Or Eastenders.
It's a bit like sitting at the Watchtower study. So much blah blah blah that one just turns off.

I just need upgrading a little, please.

here in colorado, two denver police detectives were shot at a baptismal celebration.
one is dead the other hurting.
the deceased leaves a wife and two daughters.
The fact is the government wants the immigrants as cheap labour to boost the economy
Yes indeed. Meanwhile we have a minimum wage that is actually nonsense due to the black economy paying a pittance to immigrants who do all the crap jobs for pennies.
..and they're still doing it in Morecambe Bay.

So I just wondered what people in other countries were thinking. That's if they are thinking, of course.
Do you have a favourite Brit? Or do you think that we aren't fit to live with pigs? Worse, maybe you think that we are fit to live with pigs!
So come on then...is there a Brit that you like or admire? Alive or dead?

as a city fan, i must say my heart goes out to all the poor united fans, many of them abroad and down south, who face seeing their club go to ruin now some rich american has bought it whoseems intent on wringing as much short-term profit from it as possible and offloading a heap load of debt onto it.
oh, and not even runners-up again this season ... 20 points off the pace while chelsea smash all the records utd set ... that must hurt too.
still, look on the bright side - it's brought a smile to lots of soccer fans around the country and you can always bring out half a dozen new kits next season to raise more money.
Say what you like..Manchester United are the most famous football club in the world
This would be true except for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Football is not running around in Europe with a cute set of shorts on, football is Tom Brady in the playoffs in New England at - 20 degrees.
Hey, I'm not a Man U fan! But...I do admire their style of football. If there's several matches being shown on Sky at any one time I'll plump for the Man U game everytime. 'Part from Pompey, that is. Although one person whom I quite admire does have athing for a certain East Anglian team. Englishman.
