  i was watching a documentary from last week about saudi arabia.

  there are many human rights violations going on, supported from islam ideology.

  apparently is(is) is an off-shoot of saudi society.

  interesting in a new video on tv jw org "edward aljian: an important reminder", from 6 minutes onwards.

  he asks a question about abraham: "couldn't jehovah have spared abraham a lot of grief by telling the promised offspring would be by sara?".

  jehovah only disclosed this when ishmael was in his early teens.

  Addressing life's big questions

  something else i noticed in the awake 2016.2 magazine: very interesting that on page 6 and 7 "life's big questions" they basically pose two:1. science ... cannot define sexual morality.2.

  science ... cannot make moral decisions on the embryo’s right to life.but actually, science can: it's called ethics, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ethics.

  kant introduced some interesting concepts how to think about what should be morally right, see deontology.more interesting though for me here is why these two?

  Awake 2016.2 experience

  hi all, what do you think about the experience on page 4 of 2016.2 awake?.

  maria, who is one of jehovah’s witnesses, was publicly insulted by a prejudiced woman, who caused quite a commotion.

  but instead of retaliating, maria calmly continued on her way.

  some items i noticed:.

  "christian apostates have removed god's name from the bible" ... apostates?

  what definition of apostates is he using here?.

  Collecting coupons

  in the latest jw broadcast, the supposed accuracy of the bible is stressed again using isiah 40:22 and job 26:7. isiah is as accurate as saying that god looking down on a pizza being a correct cosmological model.. about job ("...hang the earth upon nothing"), i was thinking of collecting coupons.

  suppose you're collecting those to save money on some items.

  then, when you get to the cashier, you get this response: "but sir/madam, these coupons are the figurative ones!

  in the new publication "jesus - the way, the truth, the life", page 23 jesus is pictured as a young boy when the astrologers visit.

  how old do you guess him to be there?

  i'd say 4 years old.
