I think I would jump at the chance to live in Washington State, especially for such a long stretch, so the little one could really put down his own roots. It sounds great! And you sound like the kind of people who would make more friends wherever you are, so you wouldn't lose friends, but rather you would gain more.
Semi-desert, mild weather?? Go for it! :D

Do you still call it "the truth"?
by True North indo you find youself still calling it "the truth" even though you are an ex-jw?
for instance, in one posting i just read, the poster wrote "when i was in the truth..." .
not a big deal, perhaps, but really not such a good thing either as it's a habitual holdover from the program of mental conditioning we were subject to.

No, I don't refer to it that way. Makes me feel sick! :D

What do women REALLY want?
by Abandoned inok, i've heard it all: sincerity, honesty, security, money, love, romance, flowers, poems, promises, and more.
but, in my arguably limited experience, i've been shot down while doing all of these (at differnt times obviously).
so, what do women really want?

Good point! I hope this means you have done just that then? Found her, I mean? And you're right for her too of course.

QUESTIONS FROM READERS----CHECK THIS OUT!
by Mary inseeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.
the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.
then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.

Mary
It's interesting that you say that Steve, because page 28 of the very same WT has a article called "Why Avoid Extremes?"
Oh my - perfect example of both the org's extremism and its constant self-contradiction! LOL!

I had my operation
by Gadget ini had my operaton this afternoon, and everything went well!
i've had problems breathing through my nose for the last few years, so hopefully that'll be all fixed when i heal up.
i'd heard a lot of horror stories about how bad the op is, but it didn't seem that bad.

First time in hospital - well that's good then, isn't it. I'm glad you came out of it well. What was it? Adenoids or deviated septum or what? I hope you feel better as you say, after the meds wear off.

Hello lurker, I think I know how you feel at this point...I've decided to "come out" a bit too. Congratulations to you. Whew! Two years lurking. But now it seems to have done us some good.
Such a nice forum.
