I'm about a 5. Its still raw but alot better than last year. If my parents weren't in and I didn't have dubs under my nose every day I could forget them. I'd be a 10 pretty quick.

I'm shunned most days. Shopping round town, in the place where I work when the dubs come in for their morning coffee and at the school gate. It hurt like nothing on earth for the longest time, but the pain is easing now. I feel nothing but a mixture of contempt and pity for them now.
Password, that must have been a harrowing ordeal for you all and I'm glad your father in law could see first hand just how bad the shunning is. I'm so sorry the Society have done this They truly are wicked. This one policy completely destroys their credibility in the eyes of the public and the more people know about it the better. By their fruits......
I hope your family wasn't too hurt by the actions of these people.

Has anyone got anything positive from the WT organisation?
by BloominMarvellous ineveryone seems to just hate the wt.. i am very upset with the way ive been treated but i dont hate them.. they have given me huge self confidence after helping me out of depression, although i have a fab counsellor, so they cant get all the credit.
they have made me independent as well, (i think my ex-study conductor regrets that!
) i suddenly have a mind of my own and am not afraid to use it.. i owe them quite a lot they have really helped me through some bad times but they have created some bad times for me too.

For those that were raised in the Truth, why did YOUR PARENTS become JW's?
by BonaFide init's weird putting two and two together after 40 years of have the two things separate.. my uncle was killed in a car accident in august of 1969. i was a child, but i remember my mother being very sad and crying and staying in her room.. it was in october of 1969 that the witnesses first visited my mom.
my mom was in the front yard watching us kids when jw's came door-to-door.
that sister and my mom are still friends to this day.. anyway, my mom started studying.

My mum was going through a vulnerable time. Her eldest children had all married and left home and I was the only left at aged 13. She had started working to fill the void of the empty-nest syndrome and was becoming very cynical about family occasions like christmas which, to her, seemed to have lost its meaning. At work she met a Witness who (of course) told her how bad christmas really was. This led to a bible study, a whole new circle of friends, a new emphasis to life and the rest, as they say..is history. Dad followed 2 years later, mostly to please mum.
However they kinda forgot they had a 13 year old still at home and I became a "truth" orphan. I was too old to be babysat and I didn't want to go to the boring meetings so I was home alone for much of the time. Couple that with birthday, christmas and easter celebrations all going bye-bye and all the family stuff that meant so much to me was gone.
I spent most of my time playing hookey from school, getting drunk in class, in trouble with the police and hanging out with my friends. Mum and dad didn't know this of course, they were at the meetings or conventions or assemblies or at a JW's house having meals.

Must see video on Youtube where a JW is clearly defeated on the trinity subject...
by Tuesday inpersonally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.

Guilt trip on R&F if you don't preach
by bobld inthere is a certain feeling in the air, that you must preach and to knock on doors.they like to as an example,if you know that there's a tornado or some bad weather is coming and you don't say anything or warn the people, you bear resonsibility for the lives lost.the wbts looks at it the same way.thus the gulit trip for not going from door to door.. now this is about as stupid as a queer in a whorehouse.the gb of the wbts should be guilty of not warning the people,by modern technology methods.they should be using,t.v.,radio,internet,satellite etc.not this bull dung of going from door to door.how would they like it if a tornado hit their new printery in wallkill,n.y.
and the government sent troops form door to door to warn their volunteer workers.how about their properties in brooklyn,n.y.
so don't give me this guilt story of preaching from door to door as the most effective.just look at the history of how many people lost their lives in the past due to tornados because they did not have the modern technology of warning people as compared to today.get off you high horse and if you think your message is so important to warn people than use the proper methods.. bob.

Out of interest do you think Jesus and his appostles if here now would sit back on their computers and use the internet or TV to preach or would they prefer the personal less self-promoting touch?
If Armageddon was nigh as the JW's claim, then the urgency of that message would override any initial "personal touch". Get the message across to as many people as possible in the shortest time possible, then when people start to respond, talk to them personally about the message.
Of course the JW's wouldn't dream of doing this. If their real concern was getting the message out and saving lives they'd use any and all methods to shout it from the rooftops. But instead the GB have gotta keep the R&F so busy with fruitless tasks that yield very little results so that they don't have time to think.
Typical antics of a cult.

Hi Reniaa
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
was JEhovah making moses into a false God? Of cause not....
Clearly this was referring to Moses position not his divinity - on that we're agreed.
the bible also calls his sons angels gods because they are spirit form.
But again I don't see in the bible how angels are called gods "because they are spirit form". Moses wasn't spirit but he was called a god because of his higher position. The angels are also in a higher position so they are "gods" in that sense. Nothing to do with their natural form. Its like calling your belly "a god", if you give your own desires higher prominence than anything else, it becomes god-like to you. But it doesn't make it a "true" god.
so the choices aren't God verses false gods but God, lesser gods or God-like if you will and false Gods.
But again that leaves us with a dilemma. In Isaiah 43 v 10-13 Jehovah clearly states that there is no god before or after him, so who is Jesus at John 1 v 1?
Is he God? Or is he "a god" in the sense of being in a superior position?
I see the choices as either being Jesus IS God in the way he perfectly reflects the Father or its referring to Jesus' superior position based on the rest of John 1 v 2-3 and its context. I have to totally disagree with the idea of lesser gods as an understanding.
So back to my original question. Is Jesus God or is he a created god?
Jehovah didn't create "lesser gods". Isa 43 v 10-13 says so. Therefore does that make Jesus a false "god" in the light of John 1v1?

Perhaps I missed it but has anyone explained this.
If there is only one TRUE God and Jesus is "a god". Is Jesus a TRUE God or a false god?
