Do you like yourslef?
by R.Crusoe ini find this question another i hate to think of!!.
i view myself through others which is a reality of zilch so it is bad karma for me to consider it!.
maybe its circumstantial of many life events but i'll bet exjws feel the power of the above dynamic as a negative force for humanitarian ectics and personal self worth!

Jehovahs Witnesses care for victims of child abuse RELEASE
by NotaNess ini'm sure this article has come up on the forum.
can any one give me information on the numbers quoted below, in respect to them being inaccurate, correct, or what the number is more like, when you add in jw's that aren't elders, where it seems like they fail to mention here.
it almost seems they try and minimalize the the amount of abuse by only speaking of the elders here.

Let's also remember that in lawyer speak in order for an elder to be considered "sued", it actually has to hit the courts.
therefore, settling out of court does not count as being sued.
Hmmmm, I wonder how many JWs know that? -

Michael Jackson as a JW ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles indo you believe that the jw factor in michael jackson's life contributed in any way to him being a misfit of sorts?.
i'm wouldn't describe myself as a fan of his, but sometimes i just feel so sorry for the poor guy.. and now it's even worse!
he's responsible for children who're probably thinking that it's everyone else who's weird!

I think anyone who has to grow up before their time, will end up spending their life trying to live as a child.

Anyone DF'd and you DID'NT know why?
by avishai inalmost never in all the halls i've been in, it was always common knowledge.
-
metaspy
Yes, but I could only think of one.
There was a sister who divorced her husband (He was a brother) because of neglect (spiritual and physical).
She was DF'd.
She came to all the meetings and such.
After 6 months she starts bringing this guy with her.
Then about another 6 months later, he gets DF'd for screwing some lady.
Then she marries the guy, and gets reinstated.
I would assume that she was screwing the guy she married, but that is only an assumption.
To me, it didn't add up, he wasn't even around at that time period. -

I think that JWs are vicious when shown the truth about their religion.

Is Satan actually the good guy, and Jehovah the evil usurper?
by 10p ina few years ago i read genesis again, and with a more objective mind, got the sense that satan was actually telling the truth, and that god was just trying to have humans be his slaves.
and god's reign over humans hasn't been all that pretty, in fact, its been downright awful.. 'course, i'm atheist now, so i wouldn't believe it even that way around - not literally anyway.
but i wondered if the writer/editors of genesis may have actually had this thought.. anyone know of any sources that explore this idea in depth?.

I had a teacher in school - the class was "Gifted and talented".
he had crazy ideas about many things.
One of his many ideas was exactly what you are talking about.
Only he made it a little more drastic.
Such as the entire Bible is just a ruse to draw people away from serving the true God Satan.
He had all the details mapped out.
It might be true... who knows. -

VERY BAD NEWS...my son is going to Bethel............
by oompa ini can not describe the sadness of hearing him tell me, i asked him to think about what a great part time job he has, with free schooling.
he says they will probably take him back.
his abilities are suitable for closing down brooklyn, so at least he will be there (i love nyc).

I am very surprised to hear that they took your son now.
my brother (who is at Brooklyn) said the official word is "no newboys".
Since my brother is in need of a room mate, I wonder if your son will get stuck with him...
that would be weird.
Please keep us posted. -

Retraining our WT-controlled minds - THE GAME 2
by Lady Lee ini thought this might be a good way to help many of us to see the absurdity of some of the wts/jw rules "principles" .
women can't wear pants to meetings or service or i've heard even to go clean the hall.. what scriptures would the elders use to get a jw to conform.
you don't need to quote whatt he scripture and i certainly have no desire to do that but if you have the quotes handy feel free to post them.. the rule principle.

I only knew the rule, never the reason.
I guess I loose this round of the game.

ROFL @ WTWizard!
I bought some powerball tickets a couple weeks ago, from the store right next to the local KH.
I almost felt like taping some of them to the door.
but with my luck it would have been a winning ticket.
It did feel good not to feel pressure.
I went to my Aunt's house (on my dad's side, not a JW) and spent most of the night there.
Thank you all for your support!
I couldn't have made it this far without you.
