Do you Give to Charities or Donate Time?

i never knew of any jehovah`s witness to give anything to the community..ever!

!..they don`t mind taking,but they don`t give back.except in the way of manditory tax`s.....i sometimes drop a dollar or two into a donation can.i take clothes,kitchen items,electrical appliances,food or anything else i`m not using and give it to "charity"..i never let anything usefull go to waste.someone in need,gets it!.....not everyone is in a position to do this and thats ok.....for those who are in a position to help those in need:..do you give to charities or donate time?...outlaw

That's a real bug as christians!

I went to UNESCO congress lately, and a guy said something which was really well said : "Somebody who's starving can't hear and when you are starving if you don't have any help you can only count on God". I guess the JW governing body have this in mind (Do not help if their are not following us - somehow).

For my part I've from time to time donate to people who are asking in the streets it depends on my feeling (but still never knew is they were faking or not - but I was thinking whatever, how can I know anyway. What if they really need it?) but now I'm more into giving to food banks (because in France things are guetting very hard for those who do not have a minimum of wage and do not dare asking for help in the streets) and since a year were I'm living on a regular basis there are people who are collecting food right in the shops for the needy (it's even better - so you buy food and give it to them right there) I like this way, and it feel good to know you give food.

I have big troubles posting and editing (it's say's ERROR most of the time when I submit and most of time after trying different things like close like posting an other post on the same thread, reconnect, close the window, reconnect, shutting down - I finally give up LOL) ??? it's weird ! it was announced at the special day assembly at houston tx.

What JW 'belief' offends you the most?

ok ... that's about an answer I've got from one of my sister while arguing : not really a belief but related to a law :

it was about the blood issue and I was telling her that actually accordingly to the bible a believer is dead for the law (any - not only the mosaïque once) and even though the blood restriction was about killing : to eat, or to kill (which have nothing to do with : to save but that's an other story make them see where the difference is) that's when she answered me that actually it is important for the blood to return to the soil because God would need it to recreate us and to make us alive again (because to her the blood is her life ) ... I couldn't believe that I was sooooooo UGH In what kind of God does she believe exactly : who would need to preserve our blood to recreate us ? from what would he have created us at first ... Blood ? What about the dust will he need it to ? So in what is our spirit made out ? (dust/blood ...)

I'm glad she begin to understand now how funcky the JW teaching is leading to think weird !
