I still understand the dilemna of admitting mistakes, but I realize it is time to just let them be. What about you?
Me too ... because it is way more simple (why bothering to refute, denying, lying, ... whatever) I mean if there is energy to wast its better to put it into something positive.

Admiting Mistakes/Poor Judgements?
by choosing life indo you find it hard to admit mistakes oe even just incidents of poor judgements on your part?
most of the time i do not have trouble, but occassionally i am more reluctant.
what makes it so important to us, that we become stubborn and refuse to bend?.

UNDENIABLE LOGIC. Some cherish it while others dismiss it. Which are you?
by nicolaou inthere are so many ways to get into this topic; homeopathy, astrology, feng shui, alien abductions, seances and so on ad nauseum but let's pick a simple one - mathematics.
do you accept the undeniable logic that 1+1 must always equal 2?.
i cannot conceive of a situation where 1+1=3 but there was a time when i did!

RAF: Sometimes I can be really thick! Reading one of your earlier posts just made me realise that you are French Baby Face! Cool! I missed you but you were here all the time! Why the name change?
Well it took time ... No I haven't been always here ... but when I wanted to share some times here I had a problem to log on ... I give up a few times for a monthe or so and ... (well it's all written on RAF's profile).
Shawn (and 5go) !
About a lot of questions (not mathematical) from what do you state that the premise is true? (like something that even scientists can state as true or not like is there a God which would ask to first define God - maybe you know more than them? you must wonder at least if you know more than them NO? And since you don't know there are premises that you just can't state anything about - and the logic is then to keep it as UNKNOW) otherwise it's NOT LOGIC it's a personnal feeling or value or postulate (related to your own experience).
Actually shawn and 5go you were off topic (with your examples with numbers) we are not talking aboutmathematic(mathematic is about counting nothing more nothing less it'svery precise and each valueeven if stated algebrically as X or Y or P will be the same in the all process of the operation concerned even if P and X are equal or not, but you know it for sure since we are talking about mathematical value).

All X,s are blue
P is an X
Therefore P is blueThis is LOGIC ONLY when you WHEN kNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT X and P to compare them as being EQUAL IN THE MATTER - since all X are BLUE from where do you state that P is an X? since P is not X.

What is Your Scariest Experience in Life?
by R.F. ini'd have to say mine was when i was at the wee age of 8.. my siblings and i were out swimming with some friends and their parents.
what i remember mostly was that i got seperated very quickly from the rest of the group and drifted into the deeper end.
i found it getting more and more difficult to swim with each passing second.

Oh my Awakened07 ... (Ooops - I'mSORRY - yeah I really feel that something had been lost in the translation on my side) but at least your view on logic is very clear to me now (thanks for answering).
Shawn10538 get a clue of what you are talking about
logic have nothing to do with mathematique but algrebra which is not exactly the same thing (it have to include - any I don't know for sur - or I know something is effective but I don't know what it is exactly for instance) and since you miss the real value of the variable you are left with an X and if you give X a personnal value it is still a personnal value not logic. -

are you talking about logic or religion nor specific beliefs here? why the need to mixe everything is that logic?
you want to talk about logic or you want to argue about why you don't want to believe in something in particular (I insiste on particular because of all the examples you've took).
and YES of course logic is not about willing ... WE ALL KNOW THAT (or it's just stupid to just want to believe that's not logic - nothing to deny here) ... So now if you stay logic (check the definition in a dictionnary) can you answer this question (first read yourself back) and now tell me : what was your point exactly ? ...
logic is not about focusing or excluding (from one point of view - here the theology you know about or focus on), logic is about taking everything you can into consideration ... and while I read everywhere I want (just like you probably do) I've read a lot of stuff JUST here (so it's available to aknoledged - how many differents kind of beliefs did you took into consideration here to apply any reasonning to conclude this or that as just I THINK IT'S BULLS or just well I DON'T KNOW - and since you don't know, what is your logic exactly and what can you get out of this but that you don't know) how much kind of faiths and beliefs did you take into condiration in your reasoning here?

Also still about the logic even mathematical it still depends on what you are talking about :
So that when even 1+1 is not always equal to 3 it depends of what means each 1 and what the result is about (wants to demonstrate) ... if each 1 is a human being (but one is a man and the other one is a woman) and if the result wants to demonstrate how much kids they can have together ... the result is X (= whatever depends on which couple) - that pure logic and still mathematical (but as you can see the number can't always be the same).

I have to join Paralipomenon here (globally) but will try to go further on this ...
in first emphasing on what nrgnbk said
That's why dogmatism of any kind is alienating and counterproductive.dog·ma (dôg'm?, dog'-) pronunciation
n., pl. -mas or -ma·ta (-m?-t?).1. A doctrine or a corpus of doctrines relating to matters such as morality and faith, set forth in an authoritative manner by a church.
2. An authoritative principle, belief, or statement of ideas or opinion, especially one considered to be absolutely true. See synonyms at doctrine.
3. A principle or belief or a group of them: “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present” (Abraham Lincoln).[Latin, from Greek, opinion, belief, from dokein, to seem, think.]
Now about logic
reality (the one you know) is not logic in itself if you only take in consideration what is reality scienfically for instance (why? because we none of us knows everything about reality - even scientists) that's simple to understand ... Logic is related to reasonning not to what we can prove, it have to include from the individual who wants to be or stay logic, to not deny what he knows to be effective wheter there are proofs or not.
ortherwise the logic is just not logic anymore but a denial ... wanting to be rational at any rate (in thinking that rational is related to what we can explain scienfically is not really rationnal - it's just an effort of denying that there are things that whe can't explain - and that's rational logic if not that's when people in wanting to be rational becomes irationnal ... here are the definition of logic and rational
formal logic
n.The study of the properties of propositions and deductive reasoning by abstraction and analysis of the form rather than the content of propositions under consideration.
if you state that logic is based on reality (the one that you have access to) you refute propositions
ra·tion·al (rash'?-n?l) pronunciation
adj.1. Having or exercising the ability to reason.
2. Of sound mind; sane.
3. Consistent with or based on reason; logical: rational behavior. See synonyms at logical.
4. Mathematics. Capable of being expressed as a quotient of integers.A denial is not sane!!! it's not related to reason ...
So logic and rational is absolutly not realated to what any state as really for being something that you can prove ... but only something that you can't exclude as a proposition in the reasonning from what you know (experienced in fact since what you know is related to your experience).

Well since someone can see someone else's precise futur for the very next day in a dream (*) ... well why couldn't any can get what happens somewhere else? (whatever way they know)
(*) I have 2 concrets examples from my own father and he is not the one who is talking about it - it's actually the kind of stories that a Grand mother feel like to tell you when you ask questions about a father that you don't really know about his childwood)
All what you could say is errr : coincidences (but then from where comes the details, the exactitudes?)
Don't get me wrong here ... what I'm saying is that we are different ... with not only different lives/experiences but also different capacities (call it gifts or even curses when actually it doesn't really help or that it scares people or get you annoyed by people who just can't get it).
I find it interesting when I hear some people saying ... this didn't happened to me so why did it happened to you? ... well, well, well ... Why aren't we all suffering from famine since day one and dye after 6 months?
