it is the case though that it wasn't until 1929 that the wt changed their current understanding to be that they were inspected and selected in 1919 - 3 1/2 years after 1914 and christ's return to the throne.. .
wouldn't you think such an important event would have been revealed in a more obvious way?.

What is egregious to me is that they staunchly stick to 1919 as the date they received divine authority to do what they do.
So if you don't believe this date you in essence reject their authority.

Having read through this I'm a bit disappointed that so many here resort to insults. I've not read AIW's other posts, but I don't see her attacking anyone personally.
AIW, one of the things that bothered me was the attempt to disfellowship a couple who were about to go on Dateline. (I'll state this to the best of my memory, if there are errors I apologize in advance.) Their son was molested by his grandfather and when they went to the elders they were told to not go to the police and slander Jehovah's name. (or words to that effect)
The couple couldn't continue to go to the KH and fell away, but no attention was paid them until three years later when they decided to do the Dateline story. Suddenly the elders want to meet with them to help them and an attempt was made to get them into a JC before the show. It's the common belief that the WTBTS wanted to do this in order to be able to say to the rank and file members "don't watch disfellowshipped persons".
I will concede that I think many situations were handled correctly by elders and very badly by others. I do believe that the WTBTS directed or discouraged matters going to the police.....for a while.....then gave clear direction as how pedophiles should be handled. I think the policy now is as good as one could expect.

Still Feeling Lost...What to Do Next?
by daringhart13 ini'm wondering how many of you still feeling a burning need to know god and have a relationship with him.. i am dealing with the horrible emotions of having faded, done some things that would be considered immoral, stopped praying (not sure i ever prayed right) and generally just feeling lost...... what have some of you done to get back on track?
i've been fading for a year and a half.
missing my first dc..... ugh.....having a crappy morning i guess...... just feel like i want to talk to god, but can't.. ironic, huh?

That's a good price. My son said he got to LA in 5 1/2 hours, but it would only make sense for me if I left early early tomorrow morning.
We just got back from the movies or we could have arranged all of this.
