  Good time for R&F to preemptively question GB validity

  with the new light in the july 15 watchtower, now might be the perfect time for rank and file members to question wether or not the big boys are who they say they are.

  in light of the fact that the men who claim to be the sole channel of communication for all mankind could not even grasp their own identity for the last 100 years, wouldn't now be a good time to turn the tables on the elders who are so quick to drag a questioning dub to the back room and demand loyalty to the governing body?.

  wouldn't now be a good time to put the july 15 watchtower in the middle of the table and ask to see the credentials on these men without fear of being suspected of apostacy?

  25 YEARS of compiled yearbook statistics

  hello again folks - as promised in my last thread here, i've been working on turning yearbook statistics into excel spreadsheets.. coincidentally, today is my 25th birthday (spare a thought for a fader).. i've now updated the spreadsheet with yearbook data all the way back to 1988 (the year i was born), therefore it now contains 25 years of statistics.. there were a lot of countries changing around and for some it was possible to create a continuation of data.

  some are a simple change of name like south-west africa to namibia.

  others, for example - in 1993 with czechoslovakia splitting into two countries (czech republic and slovakia) i have added an extra row that provides a continuation of the data, combining czech republic and slovakia back together as if they were still one country.

  Thanks, I was just going through totals. The overall increase in '88 to '2012 has dropped from 6% to 2%

  Disfellowshipping question for X or Current Elders

  i know somebody who got disfellowshipped...they decided to appeal.

  how long does the appeal process usually take?

  do they ever get overturned?

  I was the chair of a Judicial Committee and had been on the investigation as well. The other elder on the investigation was witness to the “confession” of wrongdoing. Once in the committee settings the brother backtracked on his confession and we didn’t have any other proof. In fact I think we pushed him to confess that he was getting drunk.

  I excused the brother and told the others that we were unfairly putting this brother in a Judicial setting and the we blew the investigation. The other brother who investigated said we should let the Committee stand and find him “innocent”, once I pointed out that one is already “guilty” when they come before JC, it’s our job to either determine repentance or bring the brother to repentance.

  I convinced the other two brothers that we should disband the JC and apologize.

  I got in a little trouble with the rest of the body, but not too much.

  The brother who wanted to keep the JC intact was the biggest “company man” and fool on the body.

  that was a good article

  My take is that not saying anything is the worst. So I say "I don't know what to say, but I'm here." I don't think it's good to say "I know how you feel", even if you've gone through the same thing.

  I am trying to recall if I heard of an DF'ing being overturned on appeal. I don't think so, but there weren't a lot of DF'ings in my area either.

  am i the only one that never heard this before?

  on pg 3 par 3 of july 15 2013 watchtower it says "for a number of years, we thought that the great tribulation began in 1914 with world war i and that "those days were cut short" by jehovah in 1918 when the war ended so that the remnant would have the opportunity to preach the good news to all nations.

  " after the completion of that preaching work,satans empire would be destroyed.
