  What is Your Scariest Experience in Life?

  i'd have to say mine was when i was at the wee age of 8.. my siblings and i were out swimming with some friends and their parents.

  what i remember mostly was that i got seperated very quickly from the rest of the group and drifted into the deeper end.

  i found it getting more and more difficult to swim with each passing second.

  Has anyone found dating as an EX JW difficult?

  just curious as to what difficulties have faced people dating as an ex jw.

  myself, i have noticed the glazed over look in a guy's eyes when you try to explain why your family doesn't celebrate the holidays with you etc.

  new to this board, so if this has been well covered before, please forgive me.

  I've not necessarily had a problem due to my JW upbringing. The problem has been that I meet assholes...LOL. When it has come up, the guy is normally very intrigued and wants to hear more of my story. As far as only dating ex-jws, I feel that I would once again be narrowing my options. There are millions of people out there who have had messed up lives, no matter how they were raised.

  Share your crazy jw divorce behavior stories

  so after marrying a good jw girl at 18 who was an elders daughter (married at 18 like most jw kids).

  she was leaving for weeks (6-8) at a time to "visit" her parents in the same state(3 hours away).

  i finally had enough of it and told her it was over.

  He had no prob w/ it. It was a 50" TV. He bought me a divorce present. Take a wild guess at what it was.

  DAMN! And I thought that charging my security deposit and first month's rent ($2100) on our joint credit card BEFORE we split the debt was bad. I guess my ex had it easy. He went to work one morning and when he came home and I had moved out. I took everything except the sofa, TV, and his clothes.

  i was officially installed as a member of kiwanis international last evening.

  one other member and i had been attending since spring as members but never had the ceremony.

  they finally got around to it this week.

  i was going to ask in the suggestion box if a forum for new posters who still believed in god and the bible could be formed here.

  then it dawned on me that most probably the owner of this discussion board and most posters here would be opposed to that idea.. please, be honest.

  would you rather those who believed in the bible and believed in the creator did not post here?

  I am curious as to why you are wanting to completely disregard any thoughts, opinions, and/or actual intelligence that you could get from ones who no longer believe in God and/or the Bible. Isn't that the mentality that JWs have? If it goes against your current beliefs, then it is wrong and poisonous. You are no longer a JW for a reason. Expand your mind a little bit and use your BRAIN!
