Yes the individual holds responsibility for their own adult choices, however, that's on the assumption that the individual has learned the tools of critical thinking, has learned the value of their own worth. Something no jw lifer was ever taught! I do not think any of us can look at someone who has grown up life long in it and say, well they must be an idiot, I see it, why can't they?
Oh sweetstuff, all of my comments, just like bigd's question, are referring to people who were not raised as a JW. Like he mentioned, we had no choice and we didn't learn the critical thinking skills needed to make such a decision. However, due to being the kick ass, intelligent chicks that we are, we were able to decifer what we thought was right and wrong. Everyone on this board should be commended for that, whether they grew up as a JW or became one later in life. It's what we are doing NOW that matters.

by donna4174 ini am writing because i am tired of people talking about rumours that they heard about dave madzay,he was the kindest , most intelligent man i ever new, yes he was df but only jehovah can judge him for things he did, no one else.he was an elder very high up in bethel who gave the most wonderful talks, helped many people,brought a lot of people into the truth and yet when he died not one jw attended his funeral.
how sad that a man who was so high up in bethel could be treated like this...........i was brought up in the truth until i was 15 , and turned away because of how dave was treated, even though dave had jehovah in his heart right up until his last breath and did everything he could do to be reinstated but sadly never was.........................i know i knew him

Perhaps someone could tell me why I find it a little difficult to comprehend that a brother looking after the service desk in a branch office would do the above, even "occasionally".
Maybe that's why he was DF'd. He, like Ray Franz, didn't like service. But, we shall never know. Those who apparently know why he was DF'd only come here to say our speculations are wrong then call us demons and hi-tail it out of here. Sort of like how I ask my family questions about JW doctrines and they just get mad and ask me why I need to question "the truth". I have yet to get one god damn answer from anyone!!!!

First off, she explains that he was DF'd, but only Jehovah can judge him, yet she starts this thread to judge every other poster on this board. Second, she mentions that not one JW attended his funeral...well HELLO...if he was DF'd, then NO, not one would attend the funeral. Third, she says that she turned away because of how the guy was treated. How many here turned away because of how they PERSONALLY were treated?
Not one person on either of the threads said one negative thing about Dave Madzay. Most were questions as to who he was and what happened. She avoided every question asked and only came back w/ biting remarks and called everyone here demonic. I say good riddance!
