Been there tried that does not work. The "rub" is simply that they will announce that you are no longer a JW and if you are a born in your whole family has just died to you. How in gods name is this "a loving provision" -

Why is it that this thread is true not only in North America but also the UK and Europe.? Because the Org. will not help anyone financially, but they have no scruples when the old sisters leave them money though their family may be penniless!!!! -

JWs are not charitable
by BashfulAshG inhey guys,.
i'm just venting here because obviously, i can vent to no one else because i am still in the congregation.. jws as a whole do nothing to help the poor, the homeless, the sick, the hungry, though some individual jws do.
because they are too busy giving to the gb.

Again same policies the world over. The members are controlled worldwide. would never have believed that ...with the money the Org has that it turns its back on the helpless. In Europe, UK, North America to name a few of the places I have worked, same old. Go to the food bank, [run by churches and charitable groups] pray more get out in service more. But do not ask for money, -

The Kingdom Halls are empty

From my own observations in KH in north America and the uk that I visited they are filled with the same kind of people. Their is a growing trend of poor meeting attendance. In the KH here in the uk you could come in sit and leave after the meeting and no one would say hello. I encountered the same loveless response in north America. The modernised countries are the worst. -

Phone call straight after the Royal Commission
by umbertoecho instraight after the commission ended today within minutes, the phone rang.
it was one of the people who are working on it.
firstly she established if i was alright and did i want to talk.. i said i was too tired and unhappy that geoffrey jackson managed to do some preaching....she said they were aware of that.

Again thank you for sharing, my eyes were opened many years ago when in the mid 90s the letter was sent to the elders informing them that paedophiles could continue to serve. They have hundreds if not thousands of names in HQ of those who are guilty of crimes against children. Sad day. At one time I thought when they had meetings on the GB that God spoke thru them, forgive me father for I have sinned. Then I learned from Crisis of conscience, it was all lies. -

Geoffrey Jackson: "That would be presumptuous of us"...
by Calebs Airplane inwithin the first few minutes, mr. stewart asked geoffrey jackson if the members of the governing body consider themselves to be god's spokesperson on earth.. his response: "that would be presumptuous of us" (implying that they don't consider themselves to be god's sole channel of communication).. to me, that was the worst lie of about 26 lies he's told during this hearing.
however, mr. stewart missed an opportunity to call out mr. jackson on this bold-faced lie.
he should have asked him to explain why the watchtower magazine teaches otherwise.

"That would be presumptuous of us" (Implying that they don't consider themselves to be God's sole channel of communication).
These are GJs own words. Now when the elders come around to see you over an apostate charge, if you were to repeat those words you would in no short order be disfellowshipped. Same as the hypocrisy of only needing one elder sitting outside your door all night.dun and dusted disfellowshipped. But a child has to confront her abuser????

The R&F are in the dark, and yes we have all been told not to watch these video clips, and yes if we are caught watching then we face a JC the GB have absolute power. -

Its really weird
by SpunkedTeen ini tried testing my family by mentioning that a member of the gb was summoned to appear in front of the royal commission and i found it really weird how they reacted.they dismissed it saying its just satan attacking the 'truth' and i could not believe how ignorant they are.they all think that the organization did nothing wrong or even that jw's abuse their children.

I slid it past my wife that a GB member was called to the RA Commission, in Australia she dismissed it told me Anthony Morris 3rd had done a video telling us it was all lies and made up stories. Blamed the media, when I pressed her she told me the elders had warned against apostate tv shows. I wept inwardly to remember that I was once like her but now I am free!! -

Why won't they simply change policy on sex offenders? Will they?
by punkofnice inwhy won't they (the wbt$ head honchos), simply change policy on sex offenders?
will they?..especially after the arc for eg?
it seems that with all the bad press and now the arc among other institutions that are exposing the wbt$ for a haven for paedophiles, why hasn't the wbt$ simply changed it's insane policy?.

Its very simple. The GB has a thick file in Brooklyn and it lists paedophiles in congregations worldwide. These files also expose who serves as an elder or MS, who is a paedophile. The sickness these people have is incurable. Sure the GB says Elders monitor these ones, but how can an elder body do that? Its a sad day when the GB make these rules with no sense of concern for children. Its been proven that paedophiles have a very high rate of reoffending. Tell that to the mothers and fathers of small children who carry the emotional wounds of trusting unknowingly a family friend Elder, Ms with the well being of their kids. Yet here we are, we know thousands serve as elders and ministerial servants, how will a householder react if he finds out the nice caring man who has just fondled his child while handling out literature is a sexual predator? Sad day. -

What is their official explanation for not allowing beards?
by keyser soze ini ask because my gf, who knows all about my jw upbringing, convinced me to grow a goatee, just to see how it looks.
we both decided it looked good so i decided to keep it.
i tried to explain to her that as a jw, i wasn't allowed to grow one, but then drew a blank when she asked me why.

The CO, member of Toronto Bethel Pasternack, and my body of elders said, "We follow the GB rules re:beards. Because JEh. speaks to them through holy spirit. Then later the dreaded back room, where I was told not to question the authority of the org. I was treated like I had blasphemed, it was a small crack in my faith that appeared that day, should have followed my instinctive feeliings, There are no beards allowed its unwritten rule, the GB says so, I should have faded sooner.
