Richard Dawkins FUNNY mistake

this happened almost a year ago, but i thought it was funny.

during this particular radio broadcast, dawkins claimed that most christians did not know what the first book of the new testament is.

As Higgs pointed out, when Dawkins uses phrasing that frames the whole issue
as a choice to be a fundamentalist or not, not recognizing the differences
between liberal (MLK, RFK, Colbert, etc.) and conservative, it's the same
purview of the fundamentalist. Having stacked the deck that way, he badmouths
a lot of people different than him including some who don't deserve it. The
result is more propaganda than college comparative religion course so not useful
as a reference source.

Not recognizing the harm of 'centric intolerant believers and non-believers
but attributing it to believers is a case of it, and ironically 'centric and
intolerant while purporting to be against it. A couple examples of Dawkins
doing that then judging against believers regarding wars and destruction of art,
etc., are at the next link:

Those are the first mistakes, not funny but unfriendly, I think of for
Dawkins. I'd rather see the friendliness in agreement to not want harm. It's
more conducive to the conversation if you want to persuade someone to your view.
Dawkins sort of hooray for us/bash them is, ironically, behind most of the harm.

God has the prerogative to take everyone's life, and does, but people don't
have the right to do that for God except with proof of God which is alleged.
It's a matter of faith if they did or not.
Conservative: it happened as the writers claim.
Liberal: various options--it happened as claimed but God only took the early
followers so far (Jesus regarding marriage, monotheism only took hold in the
time of Isaiah, ANE cosmology, etc.), it's a romanticized rendering of the rise
of monotheism from Canaanite culture, some scriptures indicate it wasn't a total
herem (see the links), etc.

The real problem isn't any of those things as much as if current followers see
those scriptures as meant as guidance currently, which they generally don't.
Exceptions include Christians who wanted to eliminate Jews, Jews seeing the
Palestinians as Canaanites, Islamist terrorists regarding non-Muslims esp. Jews,
etc.
