Good question.........
"And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not." Jesus Christ (John 12:47 KJV)
if an idiot thinks you are stupid, what does that mean?.

i have a jw friend who said to me "i'd be interested to know if there are any other religions that teach what jws teach".
after the post on "food for thought" which gave details of modern day bible students, i thought i'd ask the question:.
what religions are there that either have similar roots to the jw religion, or that have similar teachings?
Raymond Franz second book, "In search of Christion Freedom," has some good points for Christians to consider:
Page 672, "The Body of Christ, a Religious Organization or a Family-like Community?"
Page 681: "Is an Authority Structure Needed?"
Please read this detailed information. Lots of food for thought. I have to agree with Franz, “it is the Christian Faith that is the truth, not any one religion.

i am an active jw and was raised as one.
i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.
i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).
Welcome and good luck!
Erasmus (1520 AD): "If we want truth, every person ought to be free to speak what they think without fear."
if the group here was a congregation, what role would each person here play?.

I would be the one you would confess your sins to. Also, I would be the keeper of the Franz Books....

they all have the american flag, crosses, and symbols.
if i go to the kingdom hall i will just get shunned and i do need association.
my husband won't let me take my son to a church.

hello, i know this board for about a week but didn t dare to register and post something, to let the cat out of the bag ... i am a jw :) i was shocked after i read through some of the topic here.
honestly, i haven t seen any apostates in action until i started visiting this board.
a little bit information to my person:.
Need a Heavy? Please read Raymound Franz' two books, and see your eyes open up! I was an elder, the two books did it for me. I have stories too, e-mail me and I will give you the background...

4 i, therefore, the prisoner in [the] lord, entreat you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, 2 with complete lowliness of mind and mildness, with long-suffering, putting up with one another in love, 3 earnestly endeavoring to observe the oneness of the spirit in the uniting bond of peace.
jehovahs witnesses are a united people.
Here is some new light for ya:
"When foretelling the comming of false Messiahs, Christ spoke also of men who would come, saying, "The time is very near now," and Christ counseled,, "Never follow men like that."
Luke 21:8,PME"
Sounds like JWs? What are you going to do Mama?
Erasmus (1520 AD): "If we want truth, every person ought to be free to speak what they think without fear."
if you were born in 1914 that makes you 86 years old.
so your pretty close to keeling over already.
but that only makes you 14 around time of annointment so that seems a little ridiculous.
The funny part is that if you take 144,000 and divide it by the last 1900 years, you only have an average of 75 persons a year that get to go to heaven! So much for the power of the good news!
Erasmus (1520 AD): "If we want truth, every person ought to be free to speak what they think without fear."
it has been said that the gb are just followers of followers.. they had belived a lie all their lives and have taught others the same.. in another post i've disscussed how i'd like to know more about russell and rutherford.. were they followers of followers or corupt.. many seem to point to rutherford as the bad guy.. even in the societies own books he seems to come off as a dodgy guy.. was russell guenuine in his belief , or was he courupt too?.
so who is mostly to blame for the jw religon russell or rutherford?.
or is it ourselves ,did we just decive ourselves and seek to pass the blame when the truth dawned?.
The blame? How about all of us who followed without question all these years! We gave the power to these people......
Erasmus (1520 AD): "If we want truth, every person ought to be free to speak what they think without fear."
well i guess wt is getting tired of waiting me out.
two elders showed up at my door on halloween.
they were not trick or treating, at least i think they were notat least they did not have candy bags.
Greetings Bill:
Off the bat, I truly respect your fortitude in this matter. I do have a question: It is evident that a "standoff" exists regarding your status as a JW in your congregation. What is your plan for closure in this matter? Do you see yourself DA in the future? Or do you intend to patch things up and continue as a JW?
Your comments would be appreciated
