Hi there!
I used to get in so many fights with my fellow elders about this. And I used to raise HELL at the CO/Elders meetings during his visit. The CO's and DO's are way worse (unempathetic) than the elders. They have NO toleration for depression or any mental or emotional illness. It's so sad.
I agree with flipper that they don't understand, but I think sspo hit it right on the head, "They just don't know what to do with them." You see, it takes time and nurturing (along with many other things) to help someone who is depressed (typically). If JDubs take time to nurture someone who can't be quickly cured, then they are taking time away from other "precious" things such as the ministry and they are setting a bad example for meeting attendance. This was definitely true of me with my ex, who is depressed all the time. Here I am, an elder, and my own wife doesn't come to the meetings. It's really a conundrum for them. They just don't know what to do. They don't care to learn how to help. Nor are they interested in investing the time to truly, empathetically help.
Just my $.02.

I have found something truly horrific.
by cultswatter inthis is big, very big.
bigger that pascal petite(well, just as big), bigger than the demonic hand or the rams head in the live forever book!!.
to present this properly, i will need a scan of the page in the live forever book where the thief is running from the police clutching a bag of goods.

Oh yeah... the other thing cultswater is probably referring to is the picture on page 15 of the 1/15/08 WT, where it's talking about the changes Paul made... the image of Paul, before he became a Christian - he's wearing that exact same piece of triangular jewelry that's pictured in the lower part of the Live Forever book. Wow... that IS horrific!!!! As Indiana Jones would have said, "That piece belongs in a museum!" Not some silly jewelry store just to be stolen!
HA. If you have a copy of the 1/15/08 article, look at the pic on page 15. It's easy to see the same piece of jewelry. Is this what you're talking about cultswater?

I don't know what's wrong with you people! There are many things clearly wrong about this picture... why are you waiting for Cultswater to bring them out.
Here you go... I'll let the cat out of the bag...
1.) The theif is wearing a turtleneck and CLEARLY, it's not fall or winter - so that's just wrong.
2.) The theif is not wearing a belt which is SO not cool - especially with a tucked-in turtleneck. (And I bet if he was wearing a belt, it wouldn't match his black leather gloves or his shoes, which I'm guessing are brown.)
Ok, so now we can all go to bed - the mystery has been revealed.

Kwin's right.... if it's announced, it's publicly known. So, time to be a good little Jdub and start gossiping to find out. Don't worry, you'll fit right in. LOL

Should DF'd people talk to other DF'd people??? YOU be the judge...
by slmdf inok all... i was in a store looking for bedroom furniture and in walks this former elder with his new woman - they too are shopping for bedroom furniture.
he got df'd like 5 years ago so he has no idea i'm df'd.
recently, i've been thinking about how, when i got df'd, i would sit in the parking lot of the kh waiting for the meeting to start, and so would other df'd people.

I appreciate the comments. I'm really not mad... more shocked than anything. I would think anyone going through being disfellowshipped would have some kind of common ground to discuss.
It's so incredibly difficult for me to even remember how I could think and feel so judgemental now that I'm out. It's friggin CRAZY!!!
I appreciate what you have said... I have to be careful not to look to anyone else for my self worth, or for approval. I'm a good person - so I'll talk to who I want. If they want to be friends... great. If not... that's fine too.
I just love all of you. We don't always agree on everything, but we're always open to discussion. I have found great comfort being among friends here. Thank you for that!!!

My Website(s) - thoughts?
by KW13 ini originally owned just one website with a few friends called winxperts but recently we've started to branch out in the hope of getting more hits, more content and more people around.. we decided to buy http://www.thetechcommunity.net and make that a head network site which will eventually give a description on all our sites, will provide updates on site status, latest staff positions (volunteer basis of course) and latest content.. your thoughts?.
nothing is really finished, its all works in progress.
we own more domains we intend to give links to from that page too when they are developed.. .

Hey KW13 - very nice job!!!! Are you designing these sites? If so, you have ENORMOUS talent!
I know you were worried about work or therapy stuff before, having a hard go of it. I hope things are improving. I wanted to mention that if you have such fantastic technical skill, you should leverage that! Have you ever seen www.elance.com? You could basically freelance some jobs in the comfort of your own home. Check it out. Might be a good interim money-maker for you.
Take care... Good job!!!
