I knew one pioneer sister who was so zealous, she stopped on a highway and backed up to witness to road construction workers. She was always doing crazy things like that. Other jws made fun of her and always rolled their eyes behind her back, but I liked her. After getting to know her, I realized that she was so zealous, because she really did love God and was desperately fighting sexual urges since she was unmarried and apparently not good enough for any of the "brothers" at our hall. I recently heard that she was df'd for fornication.

How Did You Deal With Weirdo Witnesses?
by minimus ini know that some believe all jws are "weird".
but i'm not talking about that.. there are some real weird witnesses!
you know, the ones everyone had in their hall that everyone talked about or laughed at.. we had one 25 year old man who was pioneering and he used to go out to literally every neighborhood in the city.

AA..Ding Dong round 2
by digderidoo ini have posted on here previously about my problems with alcoholism and the fact that i have attended aa meetings so i thought i would start a thread to post where i am at now.. i first attended at the beginning of january and went 7 weeks without a drink, i then had a weekend away and got drunk.
i then went another 7 weeks until my birthday (april 19).
since then i have felt that i could control my drinking within the confines of a local program.. this however hasn't really worked for me, i find that i do not really enjoy going out drinking and trying to pace myself.

Take it from someone who was born into a long line of Irish alcoholics: you are going to beat this thing. You are so honest and straight forward about your problem. Accepting the fact that you have a problem is the first and the biggest step. My dear husband drank two fifths of liquor every day for 25 years. He was such a professional alcoholic that he never missed a day of work or failed to take care of the house and the yard. Unless you knew him well, you wouldn't even know he was drunk. He only drank at home to save money and to avoid drinking and driving. Thirteen years ago he quit for seven months and then started again for a few months. Then he quit again. He slipped up a couple of times during business meetings throughout the years, but he never gave up trying. It's been about 8 years, and he hasn't had a drink. He told me that when he accepted the fact that he had to quit drinking every day, he was finally successful. He also told me that although it doesn't bother him to be around people who are drinking now, it did when he was first trying to quit. Now, it just annoys him to be around drunk people, because most of them act stupid. Maybe you could avoid the bar scene for awhile. It will probably help. Good luck and God bless!

When I was reading your post, I seemed to recall another one where you talked about your mom accusing you of stealing one of her coffee mugs. Is that memory correct? If so, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, send me her address, and I'll mail her the dozens of mugs I've collected throughout the years. I've got a whole cupboard-full of them and can't bring myself to throw them away, because some of them were gifts and others are part of a matching set. I betcha there are many others on this board in the same situation. Wouldn't it be funny if everyone on JWD sent her a bunch of coffee mugs? She'd proably throw them away if she knew they from apostates.

In this day and age of incurable VD such as AIDS and herpes, I think you should tell her. To protect yourself from reprisals, do it anonymously. I would also find a way to tell the innocent husband in this case. Tell each innocent spouse the name of the person is cheating with their spouses.

Hopefully CPS will have enough involvement with these kids to make sure none of the girls are married and having children before the age of 18 and the boys who are thrown away, AKA: the lost boys have a place to go.
