I'm sory about your parents, but at least you have your sons. Active jw relatives are dangerous people. After all, they'd rather see you dead than take a blood transfusion.

you can disassociate without even knowing it...very rare!
by oompa inthis works well for elders who are cowards and want you out but dont really have a dfing offense to hang on you...even if you make no statement written or oral that you no longer want to be a jw they can say you quit jw.
they can say that some actions of yours indicated to them that you have disassociated yourself and when that happens they are not even required to tell you there is a committee formed...so there is no reason to tell you a letter is going to be read and so you have no two week period to challenge their decision...but they do not even have to tell you why they reached the decision that something you did that made them conclude you have disassociated yourself.
in fifty years i have never even known anyone who disassociated themselves...and have never even heard of anyone disassociating themselves without even knowing it!!!!

Funny childhood memory
by truthseeker1969 ini was discussing with my mother who is an active witness what i was like as a young jw kid.. she told me about the time there was a discussion way back in the early seventies about how armageddon would be a time of terror and there would be so much going on.. that night she said there was a terrible thunderstorm and she said the following morning i woke her up to tell her we "survived armageddon and could i please go play with the animals".
oh the life of a child!.

It's my Birthday on Thursday
by nugget ini am having my second birthday out of the jws on the 14th of july the first after disfellowshipping and just need a few ideas for the day.
we went to arudel today to do pre birthday shopping so i am really looking forward to see what goodies they found.
there was much whispering in the corner of shops.

It depends on what you like to do. We have parties for my husband, kids and grandkids, but I like my birthday to be quiet. Generally we go out to eat or order in, have cake with the kids and grandkids, and then everyone leaves me alone to read, watch movies or whatever I want to do. I'm not anti-social, and I love m family, but the demands of motherhood are HUGE, (or were before the kids were grown), so a little quiet time is great for me!

Aloha, I'm new and in need of legal advice

to cut a very long story short, i was raised a jw, i left the wt in january to be with my partner, a non-jw.
i was marked for dating, even though i hadn't attended a meeting since december.

As stated by others, you may have a case against the individuals who threw you out of your house and fired you from your job. But what is most important is to avoid giving your jw relatives unfettered access to your child. Please don't leave that poor kid alone with any jw ever.

JW nephew graduation party cancelled... your insight is requested
by Alfred ini have a jw nephew in another state who was at very the top of his high school senior class this year.
because of this, my sister (an elder's wife) had planned and sent out invitations to his "graduation party" which would be held at a community center with all the bells and whistles.
i actually bought plane tickets for my wife and i to attend this party immediately after receiving the invitation in the mail.

You want to know what you can do???? Contact the plane company and change your tickets in for one flight for him to come see you. Perhaps offer him some help by allowing him to live with you, help him go to college, if thats his thing, and be the "father" he doesn't have...
Sinis, great minds think alike...I was going to post the exact same thing.
Alfred, once he gets to your house, have a special dinner or party with your friends to honor his accomplishments. Then take him to visit colleges in your area. Emcourage him to be a normal young ault, and you won't have to say a word about the Watchtower. Watch him sprout wings and fly out of jw never never land.

I prayed for a Kitty today
by pedal power inme and my wife,a non jw,took her 3 year old country cat to see the vet in edinburgh, i left her at the vets with the cat and went to work, i gave her 20 pounds and told her to get a cab into town to meet me at work.
the vet removes the chicken bone from the cats throat,{the little bastard stole it ,when we were not looking} anyway she gets a bus with cat into town,cost only 1 pound, she does not get cab she keeps 19pounds.
typical, only the cat manages to wriggle out the basket,on princess street, terrified runs helter skelter accross 2, 4 lane highways, avoiding buses taxis,ect, my wife terrified screaming down the phone at me,to come and protect and save her beloved cat.f__k ,my whole world was collapsing before me, i prayed that kitty would live, my wife is sensitive, and she would have been inconsolable had the kitty died on her watch, so i ran out of work, drove through red lights, and prayed,that the little cat survived.

On Sat in Kitchener,

but at 84 i can do what i ruddy well like.12 noon i will stand with another bloke.
whos wife is a jw & it is destroying their marriage...the kitchener auditorium.
