Seeking Advice in a Story Tell.
by dan751 ini'm new to this forum, but my girlfriend, manda-xo (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/214138/1/looking-for-some-help) {her opening thread}, came across it some time ago and wish to share my story as well as look for some advice and opinions on how to proceed from the current standpoint with my family.
yes, it's true that i was born into jw cult.
aapproxiamately 6 years ago manda and i started dating, i started coming into my own around that point, and recently (past year-ish) she helped me fully realize "truth" behind the organization.. .

As a step-mother who has opened her home to both of my adult step-kids, this kind of story just breaks my heart. I doubt there is much welfare can do for you aside from temporary foodstamp assistance. Do you have any non-jw family that you can turn to? If not, a homeless shelter may be your best bet until you can get a job and place of your own.
What a corrupt, vile corporation the Wachtower is! I hope those bastards in Brooklyn sleep well at night knowing that they're alienating children from parents. They, after all, have beds to sleep in.

family didn't donate
by ssn587 ina friend told me recently that he isn't having much if anything ever to do again with his siblings, his spouse passed away, and yet none of his brothers and sisters have donated a dime to help with the funeral costs or anything else, the siblings didn't even send flowers to the funeral.
he is saing that's it, they have been written off of his list to ever help if and when they have this problem.
the siblings aren't even jdubs.

It seems that some families are just like that...a bunch of users. My husband contributed for all the high school and college graduations of his nieces and nephews except the one time he was in the hospital. But when his son graduated from high school, not one of my husband's siblings even sent a card. Now we don't accept any of their invitations for anything nor do we extend them. By the way, his family is not jw either.

so i'm about to turn 27 and thanks to the good ol wt teachings of how this evil system of things is trying to corrupt us with satan's higher education, now i'm stuck in a 100+ degree warehouse making crap money handling and shipping heavy packages while following bizarre rules the boss has.

If you live in the US, start by completing a FAFSA to see if you qualify for financial aid. Use the school of your dreams and some local state schools and/or community colleges on the application. In Ohio a year at a state university is $7200, which is a far cry from the tuition you cited. Even if you must go to a specialized school for the degree you want, almost all schools accept a certain amount of credits transferred from community colleges and/or state schools. Check things out thoroughly before giving up on your dreams.

My Wife wants to allow a Sister from her congregation to provide before and after care for my oldest daughter...
by garyneal inwhen my littlest one was born we knew finding affordable daycare would be tough.
a sister in her congregation was suggested over and over and we finally checked her out and allowed her to keep the baby.
my oldest has had a fairly normal life (thanks largely to me and my wife before she became a witness) and because of that she is quick to speak of birthdays, holidays, etc.. i want her to continue to have a fairly normal life as i know how hard it would be for her to be 'singled out' because her friends decide to do these things.. she's about to start kindergarten and my wife wants to try some sister from her congregation who is looking to make some extra money providing before and after care.

No, no, no. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this jw babysitter doesn't count time by witnessing to the kids she watches. Any extra money you have to pay for a regular daycare center is worth your child's piece of mind.
