by Open mind in...but 5 years ago today, i made my first post here on jwn.. .
i was an elder, had a true-believing jw wife and our unbaptized publisher children were beginning to feel pressure from other jws to take the plunge.. .
amazing how much can happen in 5 trips around the sun.. .

Alas, I haven't heard from him in a few days, however he said we should chat on the phone soon. My friend in Pittsburgh has to work this Saturday. Do you have a chair you can carry on the bike?

by cedars inout of interest, i have just been scanning through the four latest available watchtower study articles (july thru october 2011) and in doing so i am reading them objectively for the first time.
i have been shocked, outraged and amazed by some of my findings.. as one example, take the article "a history-making meeting" from the august 15th watchtower, 2011. the article, beginning on page 18, discusses the 126th annual meeting of the watch tower bible and tract society, and begins with a summary of the opening talk by governing body member stephen lett.
it concludes the highlights of his talk in this way:.

Feel like I'm living a lie....
by mochamint22 init's been a while since i've posted on the forum but im needing to get how i'm feeling out of my head and out in the open.
i don't know what's going on with me but sometimes i feel overwhelmingly sad and my eyes well up like i'm going to start crying.
i'm not thinking about any one particular thing when this happens.

You can break this cycle, and you must for the sake of your kids. Talk to your therapist about it, and get away from this toxic man as soon as possible.

Talk is cheap, but it takes money to buy whiskey...at least as far as the Watchtower is concerned. I bet Mrs. Jackson has donated tons to the boys in Brooklyn. Micheal even took a page from their playbook when he paid hush money to those accusing him of child sex abuse.

Im being disfellowshipped
by newcomer1982 ini was supposed to go to a judical meeting on sat but i told the elders i wasnt going but they held it anyway.
its going to be announced that im going to be disfellowshipped at the weekend.
hate the fact my parents wont talk to me anymore.

For the love of all that is holy, please don't permit any jw, family or otherwise, unfettered access to your child. Jws shunning you is teaching your child inhumane practices and disrespect. Aside from that, these loons will find it necessary to indoctrinate your child, not to mention the pedophiles that are running amok in this organization.

P.S. Please ignore the fact that we'll have brothers and sisters sign over their homeowners insurance checks to the Watchtower after volunteers fix the damaged houses. Your monetary donations are still expected. And for Christ's sake, don't earmark the funds for disaster relief. After all, Jehovah needs all the money he can get to pay off child sex abuse victims who have the nerve to bring lawsuits against his earthly organization.

by oompa init has been a hellacious five years for many in my family...especially my poor jw wife who could almost walk on water damm it...she is a saint.....and i so hate i have hurt her in so many ways....and i mean that.....but it has hell for me too since third grade as i never fit in..... or 1995 or both of course...that damm generation of 1914 thingy being kicked to the curb..... and me knowing it was now all bs since then just as i thought it was before......you mean really???

I went through the same elation when my precious baby brother called to tell me that he was leaving the organization and his dirty, no-good, rotten, worthless, piece of shit jw wife! He has a whole new life and a much better wife now.
