Never having received a birthday greeting from your parents.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inmy wife turned fifty five the other day and i pen this from her perspective.. "happy birthday".
a harmless, yet meaningful expression of recognition from one's parents that they appreciate having brought you into the world.
for many it is a special day to be remembered, and to acknowledge that you are remembered.. in all her years of life my wife has never been given a birthday greeting from her parents.

I feel like I missed a lot of things growing up JW, but all the expected/mandatory gift recieving/giving I could happily do without.
Birthdays are so much more than that! Most important is that a person is told how special it is that he or she is on this planet. And particularly for small children, celebrating other people's birthdays teaches them that everyone deserves a special day. Example: I have two granddaughters that are about four months apart in age. When the older one turned three last week, the slightly younger girl was a little upset that there were no gifts for her. But we explained that she would have her own gifts at her birthday party, and she was fine. Al four of the grandkids are pretty good about sharing their books, games, movies and toys, but they're very aware of what belongs to whom, because most of the hings they have are from Santa or their birthdays.

My son is having a birthday party today
by mrsjones5 inone of his friends can't come because his mother is a jw.
i told my boy he shouldn't have said to the mother what kind of party it was.
he's just having a few friends over for food and video gaming, something his friend has done before at other "worldly" kids' house along with my son.. there will be no beheadings at this party..

My Wedding Anniversary
by TOTH ini am happy to announce that today marks 22 years of married bliss to the most beautiful girl on earth.
my lovely wife was always being harassed by the local overlords for wearing too much makeup, having her hair too wild, and for not being submissive to them.
when we began dating the overlords pressured me to get her to change.

Hubby is doing research on D'fing to present to the CO
by cognac inhe thinks the light needs to get brighter on this so we are going to put a report together to give to the co. it's really bothering him because his dad was d'ffed for over 15 years - he has schizophrenia and even a co said he didn't think he should have ever been d'ffed to begin with.
he went to texas to save a woman from cockroaches - clearly this was because of his mental state.
he got f'ffed for that because they said he cheated on his wife and even if he didn't he had no business putting himself in that position.

I feel so sorry for your husband, because he seems to think the Watchtower gives a flying fig about congregants. Look at the few examples of the uncaring attitude:
Until 1974 husbands having sex with animals or other men wasn't scriptural grounds to divorce for jw women.
Until the early 1990's, a jw woman leaving an abusive husband wasn't even considered. And recent literature praised a woman for staying with her abusive husband for years, because he eventually became a jw. Even if a jw woman leaves an abusive husband, the Watchtower permits him to continue controlling her life, because she isn't free to remarry unless she can prove adultery on his part.
The Watchtower's condoning and covering up of child molestation was brought to light in the early 2000's, yet the two witness policy is still in effect. The elders were forced to testify against an admitted child molestor just a few years ago in the Gilbert Simental trial in Murietta, CA.
Sick, sick, sick!
Why not have your husband research some of these injustices as well? Maybe his eyes will be opened to the evil of this vile corporation. Then he'll understand that he has no need to prove anything to the CO, because the higher ups in the borg already know what atrocities have taken place and are still ongoing.

Sooo Armageddon comes....
by MsGrowingGirl20 inso let's say armageddon comes,do you believe that all jw's would be destroyed because jehovah knows it's a false religion...it can't be denied, for the most part, they try to live by the bible...if anybody has to be punished i would say it's the leaders...i know that god wouldn't judge a whole organization but persons individually....so what i'm trying to ask is....do you think you're in a better position right now not for freedom but for salvation than the witnesses??
if by the time you're finished reading this post armageddon is here...would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made god proud?.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU'RE IN A BETTER POSITION WITH GOD THAN YOU WERE AS A WITNESS???
Yes, because I do not condone or cover up child abuse and domestic vioence for the sake of a multi-billion dollar business saving face.

To Vote or Not To Vote... that is the question.
by harleybear inas we all know voting or any political involvement is a big bad no no in the jw org.
i actually have been a registered voter since i was 18 and was still in the org.
obviously i kept that very quiet until i made my break from the org.

I've been registered to vote for 16 years and participate in all elections from local to national. Luckily I've never been called for jury duty. But if it ever happens, I'll tell he truth and say I have no faith in the justice system, and it would be impossible to believe either side, rendering me useless to make a decision.
