so let's say Armageddon comes,do you believe that all jw's would be destroyed because Jehovah knows it's a false religion...It can't be denied, for the most part, they try to live by the Bible...IF anybody has to be punished i would say it's the leaders...i know that God wouldn't judge a whole organization but persons individually....so what i'm trying to ask is....do you think you're in a better position right now NOT for freedom BUT for salvation than the witnesses?? If by the time you're finished reading this post Armageddon is here...would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made God proud?

" ..would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made God proud?"

No and oh geez have I made god proud by leaving a lying cult? Well if there is a god and if I cared what he thought I guess so. Oh and Armageddon ain't coming.

Do you mean "glad" or "proud"? I do not know if God can feel pride. Do I think God is glad for me? I hope so! Your question is biased. You ask like there is only one type of "witness". Tammy who posts as tec is a witness but she was never a Jehovah's Witness (the religion). And there are many more who are witnessing who are not of the Jehovah's Witness brand.

Will I ever wish that I were a Jehovah's Witness? I am sure, for me the answer is no. But I am not satisfied that I've made God proud. To know what The God thinks of me is to make myself equal to God in my opinion. I am not equal to God and neither are you.

(Reply based on The Big A being right around the corner. . . . and coming in our lifetime) If members of all [other] false religions are destroyed, then so would be JWs. However, assuming JWs are indeed "saved", then so are all other "sincere" persons of all religions who "believed upon Christ's ransom sacrifice".

Armageddon <------- This is the Boogey Man that WT uses. Armageddon isn't real. It's not going to happen. We're all going to die, just like the billions of humans before us, in a variety of ways. 'Fear of Armageddon' is a method to control people.

This may seem like a radical idea. The sooner you come to grips with it, the more meaning your life will have. We were lucky to have been born in the first place. Most eggs are never fertilized.

Every second you spend thinking about Armageddon is a second wasted on a fantasy.

Fear is the major motivator. It binds in two ways: (1) It creates an outside enemy who threatens or persecutes the member. This results in the "us versus them" world view, and (2) fear of failing the organization or fear of discovery and punishment by the leaders if you are lax in doing your job. What job? Why, serving the organization, of course! "Are you REALLY doing all you can to serve God?" (A typical introduction to guilt.)

Guilt is a good enforcer, but it won't work unless you can make people feel guilty about something. Note this subtle example: "Now that you have an understanding of God's purpose wouldn't you like to share it with others? We know God will destroy all wicked people shortly. Since we have knowledge of this we have a responsibility to warn others. If we don't do this God will find us bloodguilty at Armageddon. You wouldn't want to be held bloodguilty, would you?" Cults need a bogeyman. The Watchtower's bogeyman is Armageddon. Fear of eternal annihilation and fear of being found bloodguilty by God at Armageddon assures the continued service of the "faithful." Such fear adversely influences plans for marriage, college, careers, and the pursuit of happiness. It robs one's peace of mind and destroys one's quality of life. Fear is effectively used to attract new members as well. A little Bible prophecy, some statistics and current events, a few dates and the trap is set. Once the new convert buys into it, out jumps the bogeyman to motivate and manipulate. Cults don't offer a choice. The only choice is theirs. (Is sink or swim really a choice?)

If you read Steve Hassan's first book, you'll learn about Fears & Phobias that members of high-control groups usually have. This is normal. However, you can rid yourself of these fears.

yeah but it can't be denied--no doubt we're seeing the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy about the last days...so the Bible has some merit! So at the culmination of all this wickedness, what situation will you be in? You haven't given ANY thought to that????

I don't believe in an Armegeddon like the JW's do. If God is going to cleans the earth of bad people I don't think it's going to be decided based on a religion but if you are good or bad. That being said I don't think it will ever happen. Sure bad things happen and may soon happen killing thousands or millions of random people. I also say in thousands of years maybe millions humans will just be extinct. We are not that big or capable of stopping mother nature.

On a good note I'm glad to be free of JW's but not sure if God cares that I am.

no i fully believe that people of ALL DIFFERENT RELIGIONS will be saved....my point is ---in whatever religion you're in, or not in...WHATEVER situation you're in---DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU'RE IN A BETTER POSITION WITH GOD THAN YOU WERE AS A WITNESS???

I don't think that God, if there was one, would be so petty as to care which Christian sect you belonged to.

    Yes. I do.

Religion has become "if it is good or bad for me it is the same for you". That is how the world is lost. It is not true that what is right for me is right for you.
