But one former Witness on it claims JWs are not allowed to read anything not published by the Watchtower Society, which is complete nonsense. Unfortunately it's the kind of inaccuracy that JWs use to dismiss the whole thing.

we are carefully guided with the printed resources of the watchtower to come to the conclusion, the governing body are jesus christ's brothers who are taking the lead over his domestics.
throughout the world, there might be annointed members that are living their life the way of the self-less christians of the first few centuries.. which member of the governing body has endured the foretold punishment and martyerdom, members of the great crowd and apostles have suffered by giving up their lives?
examples in poland, russia, africa, and other banned countries.

isn't it ironic that the governing body saw fit to produce a child's video warning about the dangers of plastic toys while trying to cover up the danger of sexual predators in their kingdom halls?.
even the theme to listen, obey and be blessed only reinforces the kind of culture that allows the abuse of children to go unnoticed for years.. the callous disregard for children is mind boggling.. i suspect that the governing body knew that there could be some expensive settlements coming up and rushed the production of the ill advised sparlock video to try to squeeze a few more donations out of the rank and file while they still have a chance.
they probably didn't take time to consider that it would only add to their troubles and expose their hypocrisy.. .

That book has been highly criticized by some parents and was the reason why they left the borg. If I remember correctly, the wording put the responsibility for the molestation on the child. It was something about Satan and the demons tempting children to allow their private parts to be played with or some such nonsense.

I faced that situation when I divorced my dangerously abusive jw husband who was threatening to kill me, (forcibly committed to mental institutions twice for being a danger to himself and others...particularly me). My problem wasn't that I couldn't remarry. My big fear was that he'd kill me after the divorce, because he wouldn't be able to pursue another victim, I mean wife, as he preferred to beat up women like his mother and spouse.
Anyway, thinking that I'd already been df'd, I made a false confession of adultery to my jw mother, who'd been dispatched from out of state, probably by him...you know the one who remained faithful to Jehovah's organization. It makes me sick just thinking about it.

Shamus, that's what I was thinking. And you know this scumbag did it to more than one child. I hope every kid he molested calls that attorney and sues the sh*t out of the Watch Tower! Maybe others who were also victimized by other perverts protected by the WTS will get in line too.

i have a lifelong buddy (g) who is now df'd ....doing great and happy.
he has a nice boat.
a while back he gets a call from a very well known elder who, of course, shuns him.. elder: "hi g. i know this is a little strange, but i don't know who else to call".
It's not surprising, because most jws, myself included when I was one, have this sense of entitlement. Cult indoctrination makes them feel special, because they are, after all, God's chosen people. I've heard similar stories about a cousin of mine who is df'd. Most of the time his jw mother and siblings shun him until they need something from him. He takes care of his aged mother's house and property, and then she has to take sh*t from the elders for talking to him....the cycle of abuse continues.
