I predict that in five years or so you'll be posting here lamenting how you've learned the truth about the "truth" and have to either put up with it or lose all your jw family and friends. Hopefully you won't be married with children by then....HEAVY sigh.
3. I think family's important, so is marriage. I think it's good to have a decent relationship and get married. Call me old fashioned. I mean if people just want to be 'bf and gf' that's cool too, but marriage is a beautiful thing I respect. Even though my parents split I support the institution of marriage according to the JWs.
This is what attracted me to the jws. I had a terribly abusive childhood and wanted so much to have a happy family life. Unfortunately, I married a jw man who was dangerously abusive and wound up df'd for events surrounding my divorcing him. What exactly did you think of the Selma/Steve situation in the Watchtower mag a while back?
4. .JW's are clean, decent people. They dress well, teach their childrens good behavior. You may call it robotic but it's a protection against bad behavior to have a 'certian kind' of upbringing.
JWs are as clean and decent as much as the Watch Tower allows them to be. Clean and decent people do not condone, overlook and hide child sex abuse and domestic violence. Yet jws are required to so, because of the organization's misconstrued idea of the two witness rule. Haven't you read about the Candace Conti verdict?
5. I like that so many people of different backgrounds can co-exist in worship. The number of interacial babies/marriages is ridiculous. I don't think people know this. I know you'll laugh at me or try to disprove me with this, but I grew up in it, been in more than one congregation, and it's true. So I respect that the power of faith can triump over hate.
"Worldly" people engage in bi-racial relationships too. And the society has a terrible record on racism. Do you know that it used to be taught that black people would become white in the so-called new system, so that they could be perfect too? And if there is really such a wonderful racial brotherhood, why is there only one non-white person on the governing body?
Why not put a little research into this life changing decision? There are too many hidden agendas and rules in the jw organization. If you don't figure that out for yourself by researching before baptism, it will hit you like a ton of bricks at some point as you live the jw life.

Sparlock worked his magic this weekend!
by 00DAD inyes it's true, i got to experience first hand the awesome magic powers of sparlock, the warrior wizard!tm.
this last weekend a friend of mine asked me if i could take him to the mechanic's to pick up his car after being serviced.
now this friend of mine (who is not and has never been a jw) is the the one and only friend that i've remained in constant contact with through the dark quarter century of my life when i was a witness.

Edited to add: I tried reading this drivel but couldn't make it through the second article. Why don't these dirty bastards just make a public confession of their failed policies, apologize to the victims and change their wicked ways? It seems to me, that instead, they are setting the parents up to take the blame when the shit starts raining down on the Watch Tower. I'm also bothered by the fact that they're still recommending that great teacher book. If I correctly recall, many jw parents took offense, because it's worded in a way that makes it seem kids are giving into Satan by being molested.

Is this a fact or did you make this a fact based on a few examples from obesrving both athiests and believers?
I don't know all born again Christians or all atheists, so of course it's based on some examples in my life. And I wrote about my experience and didn't state it as fact. That being said, however, there are recent studies that indicate as a whole, atheists are more compassionate, charitable, intelligent, and moral than the faithful.

If I'm not mistaken, the frozen assets thing is standard and can be lifted if the defendants post a bond one a half times the judgment.

Lawyer tells of agonising scenes as doctors forced to let a Jehovah's Witness who wanted to live, die
by 3Mozzies inlawyer tells of agonising scenes as doctors forced to let a jehovah's witness who wanted to live, die.. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/lawyer-tells-of-agonising-scenes-as-doctors-forced-to-let-a-jehovahs-witness-who-wanted-to-live-die-7879674.html.
a lawyer who advised doctors that they must let a 22-year-old jehovah's witness die even though he wanted to live has spoken of the agonising scenes before the young man's death.. robert tobin, a partner in the london law firm kennedys, was called in by an unnamed nhs trust when the man, a jehovahs witness who was critically ill with sickle cell anaemia, refused a blood transfusion which could have saved his life.. over three weeks the man gradually deteriorated as the crisis progressed, before eventually dying.
medical staff were understandably upset at seeing a patient deteriorate before their eyes knowing a simple procedure could have been provided that would have saved his life, mr tobin said.. the mans mother, also a jehovahs witness, was at her sons bedside, and an elder from the mans church also attended.

In this case, it looks like the WT got just what they wanted. They confuse and guilt-trip the average JW into going FAR BEYOND the WT's latest policies, even those written in their mags, because they can't keep up with it, and are so afraid they will die for all eternity they don't want to take ANY chances of slipping up. They WOULD NOT have DF'ed this young man - it was HIS DECISION... boosted by fear-induction from the elders who stop short of promising DFing. This happens all the time. The history of the Society tells many of these stories where JWs go BEYOND current WT written policy due to the effectiveness of the brainwashing! They make it appear that the decision is really the victim's - because it is! But nothing would have happened to the voung man if he took blood. The congo would not have DFed him.
Now he is DEAD.
The WT can wash their hands of any "wrongdoing," as it was his decision. Another feather in the cap for Gene Smalley and Fred Rusk.
Randy, there has to be a way around this. What can be done to get the word out to jws and doctors? My jw mom doesn't talk to me at al, and even if she did, she wouldn't believe that accepting a blood transfusion isn't a da'ing offense.

Interesting, the attorney-client priviledge evoked, to stop the witness from saying he was advised by Bethel on what to do. Sickening.
Exactly, and I don't know how they got away with it. The legal department has attorneys to represent the Watch Tower, not the elders. There was a BOE letter posted recently that quoted the Watch Tower as instructing the elders not to refer to the legal department as their attorneys.
Edited to add: Here's the post with the letter. Look especially at number 11.
If any unauthorized person seeks confidential information from you, simply state: "As a
minister I have a duty to keep certain matters confidential and must consult my attorney before answering
any questions." There is no need to state that you will be contacting the Legal Department.
If the inquiring party presses for more information about a confidential matter or for the identity ofyour attorney, do not be intimidated by threats and do not make any other statements. Simply ask
for the person's name, telephone number, title, and the office he represents, and tell him that you
will need to talk to your attorney before you respond to his request. Then, call the Legal Department
immediately for legal direction.Bold is mine.
