There are a lot of good people out there. And I hope to make many good friends.
With that kind of attitude, yu definitely will!
we are not far from the facilities that they use for the d.c.s, but this was the first time we went there since a d.c. my wife asked me if it made me feel weird to be going to a rock concert here.
it didn't bother me a bit, but i did notice something i thought was interesting.
when we used to go to the d.c.s there was so much hype about how much "better" we were than the other users of the facility.

if you are a parent you should at least consider the contents of this video.. .
prayers for bobby (trailer).
http://youtu.be/ibvctcpkx3g.
I watched this movie when it debuted on Lifetime, and it devastated me. Just wathing the trailer gets me all choked up. I can't imagine how Bobby's parents survived the tragedy that befell their son.
crazy!.
the local publishers seem to be jumping on the e-reader bandwagon.. sisters even in their 70's are showing up at the hall with ipads loaded with publications for the meetings for crying out loud!.
a couple of these elderly sisters are having me get theirs ready ... should i add coc and captives of a concept ... perhaps studies vol vii ... to the library for them.
Load Fifty Shades of Gray, LOL!
the whole reason i even got dragged into this jw stuff, and we didn't just become somebody's return visit they never came back on, is because my mom claimed that the demons were talking to her.
they told her that the jws knew the truth about them, so she called the local kingdom hall.
bible study was started, and that was that.
@sd-7:
First of all, I don't even drink, so no, it wasn't Jack Daniels. But that's a good one. I guess. Maybe I'd find it more amusing if I actually drank. I
wonder what my drunken threads here would sound like...would be interesting to find out. Or not.
LOL! Make sure to drink copious amounts of chocolate milk before writing your next post!
and it was a scam.
just a heads up to you all.
i hung up on the guy and googled "microsoft called me at home" to find that this has been going on in the uk and australia for years.
I'm glad to hear that so many are aware of this scam. But I don't feel sorry that these scammers have to do this to make a living. With all of the call center jobs that have been sent to India from the US, these people have a much better chance of being employed than Americans do.

So, I had a thought about wicked spirits lately...
I just love how your mind works! I was skeptical about demons when I was a jw, but the fear was still there just in case it was true. I tested the effects of scary movies by watching them and then waiting for something to happen. It never did, so I eventually stopped believing in and fearing demons.
Someone here on JWN, (can't remember who), asked that if demons need a way into homes of people, why would they attach themselves to just ouija boards and old, dusty antiques that may be shut up in an attic for decades. Why not invade game and furniture factories and attach themselves to items that most certainly will be quickly sold? That made me laugh.
the other day i found a red plastic bag hanging on the knob of our exterior door.
it contained a calendar with beautiful landscape scenes and scriptures for every month of the year.
i'm not a bible believer, but i hung up the calendar because of the pretty pictures.
I don't remember Watch Tower calendars, but there's a lot that I've blocked out in the last 25 years. I think it's safe to say that jws have never just given away calendars without bothering people in the door to door work as the First Baptist Church did where I live.
and it is a really good movie.
anyone who is interested in darwin should watch it.
one of the most striking plot lines is the struggle that he had between his science and his beloved wife's religion.

It reminded me of the plight of so many exiting or ex-jws who has a spouse still in the Watch Tower Cult.

I'm not a Bible believer, but I hung up the calendar because of the pretty pictures. It is a win/win in my view. The First Baptist Church gets to share its faith without intrusion on my life, and I get a free calendar. I'm pretty sure jws would be much more accepted in society if they did something similar.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but stop feeling embarrassed. Your ex-boyfriend was trained from birth to be manipulative, because he was and now is in a cult. As tempting as it may be to either stay friends with him or report his behavior to the elders, please don't. Both options will just cause continued grief for you. Cut him out of your life. If, by some chance, he leaves the cult, do not go back into a relationship with him unless he has had extensive counseling under the direction of a cult expert such as Stephen Hassan, Randy Watters, etc.
It usually takes years for an ex-jw to cope with the Watch Tower's psychological damage. Although most eventually come through it just fine, there are a few who go off the deep end and become dangerous people.
