out of nowhere, the mrs. tells me that since she has a part tonight and there's nobody to watch the kids, she wants me to come with her to the meeting to watch them while she's on the platform.
i'm actually still supposed to be there, but i went home (5 minutes down the road) for a 'bathroom break'.

Talked to Phone Witnessing JWs
by jamiebowers ini usually can't hear someone knocking on the door of our enclosed porch, so i haven't spoken to a jw in person in the ten years that we've been at this house.
and being that the temperatures are currently very cold in northeast ohio, i suppose the jws are doing telephone witnessing.
so, today i had the opportunity to talk to two real live jws.

Thanks for all of the kudos but to be honest, I got the idea from another JWN poster. Unfortunately I don't remember who it was, but they did the same thing, except it was at the door and involved the shunning issue. I used the child abuse issue, because poor Travis sounded so young, maybe late teens or early 20's.
I certainly hope something so foul never happened to him, but with the prevalence of such nastiness in the Watch Tower, it very well may have happened to him or someone he knows and suffers under the delusion that it is an isolated case...just like I once did. Who knows? Maybe he's Googling at this very minute!
The whole thing was almost comical. It was very conversational and went along just like the talks I used to give. Too bad th subject matter was so awful!

I usually can't hear someone knocking on the door of our enclosed porch, so I haven't spoken to a jw in person in the ten years that we've been at this house. And being that the temperatures are currently very cold in Northeast Ohio, I suppose the jws are doing telephone witnessing. So, today I had the opportunity to talk to two real live jws.
The first one was a young man named Travis. He asked if I would listen to a scripture from Revelation. I politely told him no and would like my phone number taken off of their calling list. And I then added that they had my permission to add my phone number back to their calling list as soon as the Watch Tower Society changed the two witness rule in the cases of pedophilia.
Travis seemed shocked and appalled at this accusation, so I gave him a list of names and terms to Google including: Candace Conti, Gilbert Simental, Rick McClean, and watchtowerdocuments.com. He explained the df'ing process to me, and I countered with, "With or without court records, I know the Watch Tower requires a second witness to child molestation, because it happened to me."
Then a woman came on the line and asked, "Are you a jw"?, and I answered honestly that I am not but that my mom and stepfather are. She asked me to write down a name and phone number of an elder, and I declined the offer. I told her that my personal experience and almost 50 years of court records on Barbara Anderson's website was enough information for me. But I asked her to promise to put me back on their calling list as soon as the Watch Tower changed their two witness rule.
From the tone of their voices, I think Travis may be doing some Googling very soon. The woman sounded angry, so I ended the converation by saying, "I know what you are told to believe about the Watch Tower, but I learned how they handle child abuse by first hand experience, and it is no different than the Catholic Church. I certainly hope the same thing never happens to you."

I watched the first video, and it didn't give any details about the alleged money laundering. That makes me wonder why. I also wonder about the credibility of someone who misspells words like testimony on a very public venue such as You Tube.

My husband and I had a similar situation with his mother. She was sick for years with heart problems having both carotid arteries done and a quadruple bypass surgery. Then she fell and broke her hip, and everything really went downhill from there. She had to put her husband, who had dementia, in a nursing home. After all of the drama from caring for him was gone, she insisted on allowing a drug addict, adult relative live with her.
I think she had to have chaos in her life, and it seems it is the same with your sister. Although social workers stop by and see your sister, maybe you could ask that department to spend more time with her and talk out the issues she's experiencing with her husband. Although social workers aren't therapists, they are trained to look for patterns that result from abuse.
I know it probably sounds crazy to you, but people who live in abusive situations get used to it, and nothing else seems normal. It's a terrible cycle, but it can be broken, even in the late stage that your sister is in. If that doesn't work, you could petition the court to appoint a guardian for her. My husband and I had that done for one of his brothers who suffered terrible mental illness resulting from a serious head injury. The first guardian was a CPA, but a lawyer was appointed after it was determined that my brother in law had to be committed to a psychiatric nursing home.
Whether it's "therapy" from a social worker or a court appointed guardian, some of the pressure can be taken off of you. The fact that you have her doctor on your side counts for a lot. Basically, the courts will do whatever the doctor recommends. At least that's how it turned out in our case.
Good luck to you. I know you are in an awful situation.

I read a synopsis of this story on Huffington Post entitled, "Coco Rocha a Jehovah's Witness, Who Knew?". It should've been called, "Coco Rocha a Jehovah's Wtness, Who Cares?". Certainly, if this woman is literate, she's read about Prince and the Williams sisters.
