  there's so much going on in my life right now but i'll be posting more about that later.. .

  to get straight to the point (i'm actually in the meeting right now) my mother has been very depressed about a lot of things lately.

  she is a regular pioneer and is a jw who many think is happy but she's a good faker and knows all to well how to put on a fake smile to cover up her true feelings.

  so about 2 years ago i decided to put an end once and for all to the myth about jw's being a cult.

  if i could prove it to myself that we weren't, i could prove it to those annoying people at the doors who say jws are a cult as well.

  it was really hard to find a deffenition that proved that we weren't a cult.

  Memorial Invitation official first day today

  well it's that time of year again and the invitations to another pointless memorial aka reject jesus party is now in full swing.

  even though it's only the first day i'm already more than sick of it!

  this is the first year i am fully mentally awake for the memorial season, and honestly i'm so sick of it all!

  I didn't get one, but jws have only stopped by here three or four times in the 9 years we've been here. I received a witness phone call a while back, so my house may be marked as apostate.

  I'm so sorry for all of you that were forced out in service today. I slept late, spent the rest of the morning drinking coffee and talking to my husband and stepdaughter, and then set up for my second granddaughter's fifth birthday party. We had a bunch of people here, ate, opened presents, sang Happy Birthday, had cake and ice cream, and then everyone went outside to play on granddaughter number three's four wheeler while my husband and I took a glorious nap.

  when i was about 16 years old i began recording some of the music i was learning how to play.

  i can still remember the scoldings i got too.

  whether it was a blues instrumental i wrote or a cover song, i caught hell for it.

  Holy sh*t, av8orntexas! While managing a store I was robbed by a guy claiming to have a gun. I stayed calm and calmed him when he freaked out over the noise the cash register was making when he hit a button on it while reaching over to get the cash. He only got $50, as I constantly made drops in the safe, and he was caught within a few hours. Not such a big deal, but that was almost a quarter of a century ago, and I've never worked in a similar job since then!

  Seriously in need of opinions here

  an inactive jw guy, still close and in contact with jw family and some jw friends, wanting to marry a worldy christendom girl.

  he made their relationship known to everybody (family and friends).

  excited to get married to the girl and to start a life proper.. the jw thinking is still strong in him - doctrine, holidays, voting and stuffs; but indicated disagreement with some wts policies, teaching about wts being the only true religion, and did some research about wts, even read a part of coc.. what say you about this guy?

  This thread was also started under Private Discussions, and here was my answer:

  As soon as he experiences a life changing event, such as having kids, he'll run back to the cult and try to drag wife and children with him. No one should ever marry a jw without that jw going through intensive therapy and a prenup about how potential children will be raised.

  Although jws believe in the Bible, they do not equally apply its counsel. They df gay people while at the same time protect child molesters. How sad and sickening that it!

  I'm a Democrat, not quite the bleeding heart liberal, but a Democrat nonetheless, and we have guns in our house. They're locked up, because the grandkids live here but are easily accessible in case of emergency. My husband and I don't carry them out, because we live in a small town with a very low crime rate. However i we did frequent bad neighborhoods or remote areas, we would both obtain a concealed carry license.
