One of the glorious benefits of being df'd is not being stalked by curious and nosey elders!

'A Remembering'--Batman #10 quote reminded me of my research into JWs
by sd-7 inbatman had this thought in a recent comic, batman #10 (from the reboot, the 'new 52' as they call 'em now), and it really spoke to me about what happened when i first googled '1914' on that fateful day nearly three-and-a-half years ago:.
"henri ducard, the great detective, once told me that there's a feeling you get on a case sometimes...a feeling that comes when the pieces suddenly fit into place and the answer you've been looking for all that time begins to appear.
the feeling, ducard said, is like 'a remembering.

I can kind of relate. As you know, I was a believer even after I was df'd. But because of the experiences I had about the cover ups of child molestation and the indirect condoning of domestic violence within the congregations, I bounced between thinking there must be something wrong with me and something must be wrong with the organization.
Thankfully, Barbara Anderson and Bill Bowen, both to whom I will be eternally grateful, appeared on Dateline, and the truth about "the truth" eventually hit me.

This was my 'Sign'
by MsGrowingGirl20 inin my previous post i mentioned that i'm staying in the org because i think i got a sign from god...some of you asked a lot of questions about my sign and even shared the society's view on asking for signs which i didn't know.. i didn't disclose exactly what the sign was.. some of you asked me what it was and even stated that i know that you all would pick apart and prove that my sign was just a frivolous excuse to hold on to the org.. maybe you were right.. so i've decided to tell you all exactly what it was---no embellishments or exaggerations.
i would love to hear your opinions since i'm still in a terrible mess.sometimes i'm 100% this is not the truth then other times i'm 60%....i feel if god was giving me a sign i'd be 100% this is the truth you know?.
so i woke up that morning and organized to go meeting.

There's already been a lot of good opinions about your sign. I just want to ask you to think long and hard about taking your cousin to the meetings. Please research the evidence of the child molestation that goes on in the congregations and the subsequent cover ups.

The more you learn about how vile this organization is, the less guilty you'll feel about leaving it. While you're researching, take some time to develop a support network by making "worldly" friends. Go to an ex-jw meet-up, take classes, join a hobby group, volunteer to work with poor or at an animal shelter. There's a whole big, wide world out there, so there's bound to be something that holds your interest, and you'll be making friends at the same time.

I see LW already responded here. I posted on his FB page that people were asking about him. Now I'll go do the same thing with Zid.

Response to the notion that 'apostates like to pick at JHVH's organization'
by sd-7 ini was just thinking of something i read recently, a thread about the district convention talk, that mentioned how 'apostates' are always picking at 'the organization'.
i just had a thought about that.. pick up any copy of the watchtower or awake!
or any other publication the watchtower society publishes, and more than likely, in every single one of them, there will be several statements made against all other christian religions, all religions in general, or the scientific community so far as it conflicts with jehovah's witnesses' doctrines.

That's because the Watch Tower doesn't give a damn about truth. All the organization is interested in is money from the publications and kingdom and assembly halls, (all based upon the donation arrangement, don't ya know?). In order to get that money, the gb has to have control, and they'll spout any lie necessary to achieve it.

I don't know if he confessed about molesting Conti, but I read that he did confess about molesting his stepdaugher, (for which he was convicted) before he even moved to the congregation that Conti was attending. So the elders in both congregations and the society knew that he was a child molester. Yet the organization did nothing to keep him away from children in the congregation and the public at large while he was engaged in field service. Therefore the Watch Tower is responsible for his actions.
