this is nothing new but there seems to be a lot of advice on what to do when the elders call you to meet with them before a judicial committee.
at the risk of sounding arrogant, ill give you the perspective that i had as an elder sitting on a judicial committee.
it doesnt matter if youre before the committee for apostasy, fornication, smoking, drinking or anything else.
This is totally true.
I have seen it work both ways. I have seen elders kids/friends get away with stuff that would get anyone else df'd without question.
and when I decided to divorce my husband, who was the son of a VERY high profile P.O.... a PO who had served on several "Special" committees in the 70's which removed whole bodies of elders in the Detroit area. He had spent years at Bethel previously and was something of a celebrity (either loved or hated, no one just 'liked' the guy) in the district.
There was no way that I was going to be able to stay in, even if I'd wanted to. They were going to df me, no matter what I did or didn't do. I was to be made an example of. No one could "leave the truth and so and so's son and get away with it."
They df'd me even after I wrote a letter disassociating myself! They 'fired' me and I'd already quit!
So I can tell you that yeah, a lot of JC's are totally biased, one way or another.

because of the requests of my friends, i have decided to make the text of most of the previous essays on my website accessable again.. the format of the site is now very simple, text only for the most part.. thanks to everyone who encouraged me in my decision to take it apart.
i've realized now that taking it down can't automatically erase my past, its something that i have to learn to exist with.. i'm still moving forward.. thanks to those who believe that my words merit reading.

Why did I take it down to begin with Liquidizer? Well I guess I thought that it was constantly dredging up bad memories. But I realized that they are there in my mind anyway, and that I have to let them get to me to be effected by them. And if the site can help somebody a little bit, then it's worth keeping up.
What did I like on your pages? I really liked the quotation where you were mentioned in the Watchtower! Sounds like they expected to have you for life. You did an excellent job on the pages, I can't imagine translating all of that into English. I have enough time writing in English and it's my first and only language *LOL* Great job. I linked your site to mine on the new links page :) Thanks for your post here and sorry I've been so bad about answering e mail, just not enough hours and energy in the day. *hug*

p.s. If I totalled up the numbers of years my relatives have "in", starting with my grandma who has been in since the forties...her dozen (yes, dozen) brothers and sisters...hundreds (literally) of cousins, aunts...uncles...we're talking a total in the thousands folks. Just think all the good they could have done if they'd used their lives for something besides sales for a publishing company...
