How are farm animals bred for meat killed today?
by mia_b ini was discussing with my husband how im happy to eat meat as long as its not game (venison, partridge etc) because i cant get the "no blood" out of my belief system yet and i know that game isn't bled.
he asked me - how do you think farm animals are killed today?
my answer - a metal bolt shot through the skull into the brain causing instant death - i understand from seeing programs that this is the practice in the uk anyhow, and we try to buy british - it helps the local economy more.. so how is the meat bled asks my husband?

So how is the meat bled asks my husband? they don't slit the throat - its dead. it just gets hung for a while, cut up and sent out to supermarkets. Most supermarket meat, according to him, isn't hung long anyhow - thats why its so red, if it had been hung it would look browner.
Does that mean that i was bought up eating unbled meat and all my jw family are all unknowingly practicing the eating of blood?
how can i find out?

Law of gravity?
by the sage inif jehovah's rule of law works like the law of gravity, which it apparently does until the millennial rule of christ, the past 6000 years of sin (error) inherited from adam has permitted mankind to exist even though imperfect.
this has allows death and distruction.
the historical scriptural record of death and distruction of those that go contrary to god's rule of law by failing to follow his direction and guidance (since not perfect impossible), as a people or nation it proved to be the case.

Dropped in on the Circuit Assembly Today
by new light inthe ass hall is about 10 miles from here, and here is 3000 miles from my last congregation, so i figured what the hay, i'll step into the twilight zone, see what it's like after a few years away from it all.
i was bored to a teary-eyed yawn within 10 minutes of sitting (next a nwt-guarded reserved seat, ahh, memories.)..
i caught the last few minutes of the wt study and then came "giving attention to the needs of the circuit".

mia_b
What made you do that? lol
at least you only went to the last part. how did we manage to sit through so many days of that crap for so many years?

Is the "Kingdom" a "government"?
by Doug Mason inmy understanding is that the wts says the "kingdom of god/heavens" is a "government".
where do they get that idea from in scripture?
i presume that by "government" they mean "a system of exercising authority through an executive policy making body".

mia_b
Yes you're right the dubs believe in "Theocracy" which is rule by God - part of their argument for not voting - they vote for God and not any political party and as God isn't on the boxes to tick...(that's how it was explained to me anyhow)
But really they mean rule by the borg when they say theocracy as it relates to your everyday life in the cong
