Is Atheism/Evolutionism Dangerous? Questions for Unbelievers
by Perry indoes the belief that there is no all-loving diety in which to be accountable to make it easier or harder to treat and judge others they way that you want to be treated and judged?.
since evolution supposes that life and ultimately man who is at the top of the chain got here through a process of the fittest dominating and killing off the weaker, and since most modern evolutionists in democracies no longer think that this is good to practice, how do you deal with the fact that you are a living contradiction of your own belief since you pronounce the same thing both good and bad?

"Did Hitler not say that any race who would not fight for it's survival, was not worthy of living, citing "survival of the fittest"?" warlock - hitler was a catholic and was supported by the catholic church

As time goes by, are there more inactive JW's?
by JH inthe watchtower is in black and white.
you're in or you're out.
but when you become inactive and don't go to meetings for years, you're not in and you're not out, because you still have to live under their rules.. but as time goes by, i'm sure that there are more inactive people than previously and the in and out, black and white seperation is diluting.. maybe their black and white way of seperating jw's will become more and more black and gray and white..
-
mia_b
in countries where there is 0% increase or even decreases there must be more inactive than active. once youre inactive for over 6 months and not going to meetings and stuff they dont regard u as a witness even though not da or df. you can do whatever you want then and they cant to anything

Losing the faith-but using the bible?
by JWdaughter ini find myself still arguing for the bible pov vs. the wt pov at times when i really don't believe the bible is inspired of god.
a whole new layer of potential evil on my part, i guess.
however i just think that academically, if they are claiming their stance as being from the bible, that it is fair to show them where it is not biblical.
-
mia_b
i think that its absolutely right to use the bible to point out where the witness point of view (thats what POV meant yes?) doesn't agree with the bible. Thats the only thing they would halfway listen to - if you just said YOUR point of view, they'd ignore it in favor of WTS but as they profess to believe the bible above all else then you have no other choice but to use it in your arguments.

Is it unhealthy for JW's to be so negative?
by JH inwe often hear that we have to be postive in order to remain healthy.. are there more negative people than the jw's?
the end is close and just about everything is bad and from satan they say.. considering all this, is it healthy to be a jw?.

When you analyze the situation, it's not the Dubz who experience persecution, it's the Dubz who make it a point to persecute and criticize everything around them.
lol that is SO true. my hubby's outlook on life is SO refreshing - he cares for everyone and is willing to let people believe whatever thay want as long as they don't tell him he's wrong and theyr'e right.
i was so depressed as a dub and not just becasue of what my dad did to me but also becasue i felt i could never do enough, never be good enough.
now i dont get depressed... the only thing that is different is that im not a witness anymore.

Great Crowd Appeared in 1930's........or did it?
by drew sagan inthe basic premise for this post came from some comments td made in a thread many months ago.
(read the full thread here : link) .
the specific point i wanted to discuss is the 'great crowd' theology the wts puts forth, especially the timeline of events it presents as accurate.
-
mia_b
You know - i think i might ask my mom for my bible back!
It seems that the WTS treats the Great Crowd like that of the 'Generation' of 1914. It tends to view the Great Crowd as an organic group that is ever growing, but not limited to the individuals who are a part of it. This would mean that they (those of the 1930's) where possibly part of the great crowd while they where alive, but then they 'passed the torch' on to the next generation. When they died they missed out on being part of the great crowd, but had a part in it. I'm not saying this is the way the WTS teaches it, instead this seems to be the way the doctrine is implied in their literature.
So to me it seems that the WTS has built up a very loose fitting and expandable idea of what the Great Crowd is. Because of this most JWs simply believe that it is the group of active JWs on earth at any time past the 1930s. But this gives problems to the fact that the great crowd comes out of the great tribulation.
But here is the real kicker. I have heard JWs say that you are not part of the great crowd if you die before Armageddon, but I have not been able to find this in the literature. I think this may have been one of those random CO facts that gets spread around.i always undrstood GC as organic - that i as non annointed was part of GC. But i just beleived whatever i was told and never looked anything up... i wonder if my mom would also give me the CD rom so that i can start?
I've NEVER heard a jw say you're not GC if you die before armageddon but it would make sense if the GC are the ones who come out of the GT and if you're dead you can't hmmm.
The real bummer is that if you'd died never knowing anything about the dubs u get a rez anyhow and could hav lived your life as you wanted to!

Hemodilution: A new secret change in blood Policy ?
by chasson intake a look at the forum of noblood.org, a website maintaining by some jw like larry eitel and jan b. wade (this last is a founder of sabm too).
jan b. wade made here a curious remark concerning hemodilution:.
"there has been some refinement in what a jehovah's witness patient may or may not accept.

A few too many big medical words for me to understand but
Now, if the blood is not in contact with the body of the patient, it is stored so, from the logic of the JW's theology, it must be poured on the ground, no ?
i understand that bit - i agree it doesn't seem logical.
I still hav a problem retraining my thinking regarding blood - its so ingrained that its wrong!
So I will keep anything like that link to look at and understand more, cheers
